Suggestions for hair coloring

Post by Mike P. »

Hi all, I'm 42, going on 43, still in my prime, anyway, I have blonde sandy hair, but a lot of grey on the sides. Have been looking for just for men touch of grey in my color, but haven't had luck. I have some reservations about hair color as it could permanently change my hair color to even more grey. I thought about wigs, but I am still hopeful to meet a woman, and read that they may like a man who dresses but with longer hair. I like wearing head bands, but figure I would look more feminine with longer hair. Being that I have accepted my womanhood, I figure I'll probably dye my hair more in the future, but don't want to let others on yet who may see a difference in color. Any suggestions as to women's hair color that I could use, or is there an natural way? Much thanks.

Hiya Mike,

Same age as me! =D> I just jumped in and dyed mine anyway, and there were a few comments of 'have you dyed your hair?' to which id just say 'nope, is it a different colour now?' theyd say 'yes' and then i would say 'duuur then i musta dyed it then!' haha.
The comments only lasted a few days after the first time and that was it. I only use the cheapest dyes i can find and do it every six weeks or so, and nobody ever says a word now....

Grey hair is tough giving up or is it taking color? The better half used shades close to her natural color. Her brand was Clairol Nice and Easy. They have a good one for grey. I'm with Karin, just go for it. So they know... so what? Just tell them you weren't ready to be grey; that's a no brainer.

BUT, if you just let your hair grow without coloring it, you just might be okay with it. Also it's a lot less trouble and cheaper to go natural. Now if we talk wigs? I would love to have hair, but since I don't, I get to have that much more variety that much more often.

well I'm lazy, but if I wanted to color my hair I'd just go to the salon and let them figure it out for me :P

Great replies, thanks. Sorry took a while to respond. I wondered if it would be too much trouble to dye every few weeks, but guess can give it a try to see what happens, though did think about tryin a salon to get it right the first time, but I know they can be expensive. I would let it grow, but the way it looks with much of the grey on the sides, not sure how it would look. I may try wigs, cause like you said, can try diff styles, plus will need the hair to cover my eye brows, cause don't want to tweeze them as that would also be too noticeable. Thanks again, have a wonderful day!
