I would love the look of a girl in a forties hollywood film, the heels and the silk stockings and fab clothes. Also like to be heroine in backstage musicals of the time dressed in chorus girls attire with the fishnet tights and legs and beauty to die for. Simply fab!!!

Re: If you were a GG,...
This is an interesting one...Probably, there is no right answer - but we can imagine, can we not?
I'm afraid that if I were a GG I might be like the majority of them and stop caring about looking and feeling sexy; I'd probably be a wife w/kids, etc. and little time for me.
How I CAN answer is that I'm not a GG, but am increasingly wishing I were, so having come to discover my girl side later in life than most, and still in my discovery/youthful stages of womanhood (despite being 54), I do enjoy going for it from a style and comportment POV - from my foundation wear on out being stylish and feminine 24/7, or as close to that as possible, because I do love feeling and looking feminine.
If I could be a GG this moment (sigh)...I'd be all girl....make up for lost time.

Re: If you were a GG,...
I remember these from the first time round, I used to get quite confused as I really wanted to dress like that, but I also really wanted to be with girl who dressed like that. Now I have the confidence to dress how I like I am n longer of an age where I couled get away with it, apart from a fancy dress party maybe.Latanya wrote:oh come on belinda and paula white bootsand that go/go look of the sevnties

Re: If you were a GG,...
Hi,
Thought id say a bit about myself. & no one's been in for a while,
If one were a GG. well im not sure how this will go over as ill be picked up on = the wording.
What if i say i am a GG will any one with in the trans community accept that i dought it very much. the reason being im intersexed, & what does that imply ether im not or i am. or im both. its a mix of being male & female & for myself there is no seperastion between the two. in simple terms i dont think as a male or a female , yet i do think as a female in most aspects of being female & that has been from age 10. when my brain woke up. most of my early life before then is blocked out due to being in hostpital a lot , no memory just a mind blank on a scale of o to 10. less than 1 / 2 a % .
Being interesexed does have issues that are quite different from most people & how we work through them is different,
So here we go . i am female who has grown into a woman like most female's do. my difference is i dont have my womb so can not carry my own child, yet our hormones are different like other details & things about us are,
I knew i was intersexed just not that word was used not some 60 years ago. any way i'v read a few 1000 or so letter's about trans people & have got to know & talk with many 100's over the last 16 years, so do know what they go through. & how many think. Yet there was nothing that i could relate back to myself that i thought was any thing like myself .
Mind you i never had any issues with my self & know what i was so i was quite happy with in my self i wont say in all parts of my life & that had nothing at all to do with male or female as for me there was no male / female & i thought i was normal well i was as far as it goes, later on l learned there were some differences . oh dear , gee i must have missed that.
I did not relate to or with men fact is i did not like being around them & that went for most men though i did have very few i was happy to be around so long as thier wifes were close by or near,
As iv said i was programed as female or wired & as i grow my thoughts were about knowing things concerning females & my thinking was in line with females one detail for me was i did not wont girl friends as like a boy / girl friend , i was more interested in sisters & i treated girls as sisters & saw them like myself, though for most girls i dont know how they saw me i know some trusted me compleatly & we got on pretty well. , so our friendships were as sisters & that was lovely .
For myself i dont understand males or how they think ,i thought i had some idear well being interesexed i thought i had some male thinking to me yes well i was quite wrong ,,,,,, please give me a break well i tryed .
sometime's as is in my case wev were percived as male by looks & thats pretty much were it ends, i dont look female enough to pass as one . though at a meeting & most were women i talked with another woman & she thought i was a normal woman , oh heck you must be blind you need glass's real bad. so i had a natter with her & i told her about myself well she was taken aback then said wow, she would see a difference in myself now of cause, not in how i look more in how i interact with others in my mannerisms & decorum plus just being a normal female / woman.
Ya ya , i know ...normal ... whats that when im around, not possiable any way im accepted for who i am as a woman , iv joined women only groups well accepted the women only see a woman , what they really see is more than my looks , you see it goes far beyond what we look like its who i am as a person, as a female who's not compleate yet is where it counts,
So when you understand us better & our differences & why we are the way we are, youll be able to see us in a way that says we are female & like every other female we grow into women as well.
So wether im accepted as a GG or not does not matter im still a born female ,we need to be seen for who we are thats all.

Re: If you were a GG,...
Good post Noeleena. Though not intersexed, I don't think like a typical guy either, but neither do I think like a typical gal. So I'm just weird.
But if I were GG, I doubt that I would be any different. I'm attracted to the strong, powerful, capable business-woman type and although I'm not so good at business I think that is what I would try for. Rather my brain is better at the technical stuff, math, science, etc. So if I transpose who I am now into what I think I would be in a female body, I'm guessing I would be less technically oriented and better at organizing, leading, and delegating.
I would be the next Carly Fiorina or Meg Whitman

Re: If you were a GG,...
I've never been out dressed up, but sometimes women will just start talking to me like I'm another woman. It's happened with one of my neighbours -and other times she relates to me like I'm a man - and with other people periodically.Noeleena wrote:sometime's as is in my case wev were percived as male by looks & thats pretty much were it ends, i dont look female enough to pass as one . though at a meeting & most were women i talked with another woman & she thought i was a normal woman , oh heck you must be blind you need glass's real bad. so i had a natter with her & i told her about myself well she was taken aback then said wow, she would see a difference in myself now of cause, not in how i look more in how i interact with others in my mannerisms & decorum plus just being a normal female / woman.
The most striking time was when I was shopping in M&S and one of the women at the check-out suddenly started talking about having babies and how we all related that. That clearly included me. Yet here I am, drab as drab can be - sure my face is a bit androgynous, but plainly I'm physically a man. I did tell her that, well actually no, I can't have babies.
I think what happens in these events is people - i.e. women - relate to me emotionally like I'm a woman. Like they pick up something in the way I'm being around them - and they say "woman" to themselves. And they act on that basis.
So this is like what CDs often say about themselves. That we have this "female" side inside ourselves and it gets expressed by the CDing. Only, in my case, it pretty often gets expressed outside the CDing.
Lately it's been happening to me here in ways I've found quite striking. Like I think "Oh wow, I'm thinking like a woman" - which is quite exciting and gratifying. I actually don't think it's a fixed element in me. Like I think it's becoming a bigger part of me, this woman element.
So I think that you can be kind of mentally intersexed as well as physically so - and that, also, the balance can change within an individual.
......
Just FYI, Noeleena, Carolynn (ex-moderator, transitioned, posts here sometimes) was born intersexed.

I'd be sure to express my femininity - so many women have lost it here in the USA. Nylons everyday (just like now), skirts above the knees, capri length leggings, jeans occasionally, nice colorful tops, nail polish and conservative makeup. And No Flip Flops!

Swetheart I agree with you 100%, women have lost thier femininity. Seem unless you are rich or a party goer women just don't get dressup much anymore.
One reason I enjoy going out on a Sunday as some women will get dolled up for church then after hit the grocery for Sundays odds and ends.

Re: If you were a GG,...
Hi,
As to getting dressed up. what about joining a group that does just that, im a member of two. The Edwardian 1900 to 1914, the other is our S C A Renaissance group., world wide, 1400 to 1700 . in this we have each Jan -Feb a week to gether dressed in our time line or representing a time that one likes ,
for myself my background is Prussian, so hopefully ill be able to make - sew my own clothes that will suit me as for now i dress as a Chateline = lady of the Castle plus as a wench, in fact if i wore those clothes every day id be quite happy, i have made so far 7 outfits .
The Edwardian is a little different our clothes are quite different of cause, yes i have some 11 outfits & some mix & match, most i have made, because of the time we have many lovely clothes or designs to look at, i keep most of mine quite plain as it looks right for my looks, though i am getting some quite frilly ones now manly the tops or blouse's,
its a lot of work yet is really a neat time to gether, & i really do enjoy our times together.
On another forum im on like some here they have seen my pic so know what i look like & as iv said i dress quite plain.
the reason being because of of my masculine facial features, i dont look like a female or have that look . so i dont look stupid or silly i keep my clothes plain & simple, & it works well . with in reason any way, though i get good comments on how i dress its tempered .
We get invited to many do's so meet the top brass Millitary as well so we do hobnob with the highup's
Any way its something to look at as i know many dresser's would do far better than i in how you look when dressed up.
Join a group & it'll give you an idear you never know you may just enjoy being in garb or clothes of a different time,
For our groups im incharge of photography, so get to talk with many people plus getting some nice shots

Re: If you were a GG,...
hmmm, that's an idea CA. I used to like going to Nordstroms because the ladies were dressed up, looking so attractive and feminine. Now they've relaxed their dress code and you see a lot of pasty white legs with the nasties showing or slacks with bare feet in their shoes. Not much pride in looking classy. I had made some lady friends over the years in the hosiery section while buying my pantyhose but even those ladies stopped modeling their nylons . Instead they started teasing me as being their best customer because I bought more nylons than anyone else. Last trip there I had to ask where the hosiery section was because they moved it upstairs into a corner behind the bras, reduced it to about 1/4 it's original size and not a sales associate or mannequin to be found. Even my favorite Mocha Beige shade is gone as well as my frequent buyer card they used to punch for a free pair.Carol Ann wrote:MichelleZ:

I sometimes wonder if women weren't happier about themselves in the good old days when women were women and not so manly - the tom boy look just doesn't turn me on. Rant Over (Don't get me started on flip flops)
