Re: About heel height
Just started wearing my first heels.. about 2.5-3 inches.. As I get used to them, I feel this would be my max. At almost 5'9" tall, they put me at almost 6'... tall enough!
Don't worry about what other people think, because they don't.

I know how you feel. I'm 5'9'' too. I love my 3 inch heels. Of course I love my 5 inch heels too but then I tower over everyone. lol

Re: About heel height
I never understood why women would wear uncomfortable shoes.
As a man, I always thought, clothes should be comfortable.
To this day, I own only one single pair of men's shoes.
I may have some bathing slippers somewhere, but that is it.
Now that I am seriously into crossdressing, my perspective is a bit different from what it used to be.
I finally understand why some women almost drown in shoes and still maintain from time to time that they have nothing to wear.
It is all about matching the right shoes with the right clothes.
I -love- how women's footwear with high heels can look, it is one of those items that is so very feminine.
Even if men were to wear heels, as they did in olden times, they probably wouldn't be as high as many pumps that women wear.
I am very picky as with any item of clothing, but recently I bought two sets of pumps, the exact same in red and in black, in a nice shiny finish, as well as knee-high boots.
All with rather long, thin heels, which I really like, I even keep touching the heels themselves.
I love how these three pairs look and have been wearing them far more often than my other footwear, except when the colour doesn't match what I am wearing.
In fact, I am wearing the red ones right now.
I even walk around in them a little, not caring what it does to my floor, although that may come back to haunt me some time, as someone may notice if anyone ever visits me.
In the evening or at night, I even wear them to my kitchen, as no one will be able to spot them.
I really feel taller when I wear them.
That said, I am very aware that high heels are not good for your health, so if I would ever wear women's shoes for a longer time and really walk on them over any kind of distance, I'd go for something a bit more practical.
I fully disagree with the sentiment that you have to be willing to endure pain in order to look beautiful.
The right clothes, shoes, accessories, hairstyle, make-up and so on, can do a lot to enhance the way you look, but it should never come at the expense of your health, whether physically or mentally.
