Nail and lip colors

I've seen a lot of fashion and makeup advice for CDs that obviously worked wonderfully for one person but was a total failure on me, so I rarely give advice in the form of "this is how you should do it". I just suggest alternatives that may be helpful to someone, for them to consider.

The advice I commonly see for CDs is to go with lighter, more natural shades of nail and lip color, for example clear nail polish and a light pink lipstick. But in my experiments, I've found that bolder yet traditional colors - specifically the darker reddish shades that often have "plum" or "wine" in their names - look better on me, in part because dark colors make things look smaller, which the lips and hands of real women typically are compared with men's. And by showing unmistakably that I am wearing nail polish and lipstick and that I want them to be seen, I think the stronger colors reinforce the all-important first impression of "that's a woman".

I like the "plum" or "wine" lip and nail colors and think they look good on me also.

I wear whatever I feel like on that particular day; who cares if I am a CD or not? If it makes me feel good then that is what I wear.

I like apple red nails and lipstick. I like them to stand out.
