Does anyone use Concealer?

Hiya,

I was just wondering if anyone usings Concealer, say Dermablend? I use the quick fix stuff, but I also have the cream but I'll put it on first over where my facial shadow hair is.

I put it on first, then wait a lil then when I put my foundation on it smudges it all and starts showing the beard shadow. I wondered, is there a certain way to apply foundation onto concealer?

I use them cotton wool pad things. hmmm

use your fingers to put dermablend on, as well as the foundation after. If you can find a foundation that matches the dermablend shade you have, you might want to forgo the foundation on top of the dermablend thing and just apply it elsewhere. I quit doing it myself when I noticed that there was no benefit to putting foundation on top of the dermablend as long as the colors match.

another bit of info with dermablend is that you're supposed to "set" it within 10 minutes.

So your supposed to leave the dermablend alone for 10mins before putting anything else on? Hmmm... could do your nails while you wait lol

A key step to long wearability is Dermablend® Setting Powder. You must "set" with the Setting Powder for long wearability.

Pat on Setting Powder generously to the entire area you have covered using the supplied powder puff. Make sure you cover the entire area! s, while waiting you should be applying more mascara!

w, the setting power works really good. It tends to slightly darken the color so maybe I'll try a lighter power next time (it looked like at perfect match in the store!)

Hello Everyone,

I have been using Dermablend for several years. I have have a few dark spots from either having my children or the sun that I cover.

This is how I apply my base makeup:

(my hair is either wrapped in a towel or pulled back in a head band, I keep my hair away from my face until my makeup is completed, as to make sure everything I apply to my face is blended well and not caught in hairline, I also stay in my bathrobe as to not get any product or makeup on my nice clean outfit I plan to wear until my makeup is completed)

1. I always wash my face right before applying any makeup

2. apply facial moisturizer and eye cream (as I wait approx. 10 minutes for the moisturizer to absorb into the skin, I then pick out my outfit I will wear while I wait)

3. I then apply a self tanner for the face (to give my skin some color, as I am very fare skin, I then apply deodorant, body moisturizer, and perfume as I wait for the self tanner to dry)

4. Now I apply (with a brush designed for applying foundations) the Dermablend to the areas in need, then I blend lightly with my fingertips

5. I now apply a small amount of (liquid) foundation, I first dab my forehead, each cheek, chin, and nose with the foundation. I will either blend with my fingertips or (if I feel it's needed) a (dampend) "makeup sponge" . If you feel the Dermablend is too sheer in some areas that you want more coverage, you can dab some more of it in those areas now and blend with the "makeup sponge".

Actually, I would not apply mascara. I only apply mascara when all my makeup is completed. The reason is if you apply a face powder, eye shadow, eyeliner, etc., etc, you will (no matter how good you are at applying) get some of the other makeup onto the mascara.......which you don't want

find something else to do...how about picking out shoes to match your outfit, that should take at least 10 - 15 minutes

6. After foundation is well blended (being sure to blend around hairline and into chin/neckline) I now apply the Dermablend setting powder ( the setting powder, is a white powder that may seem like it will leave you very pale, but it doesn't once it is blended) I use the "puff" that comes with the setting powder to apply......I just (generously) dab it on all over, wait approx. 10 minutes and then using my own "powder brush", I smooths and blend it out. I usually also follow with a translucent "finishing powder" over top

Base makeup is done!

7. I apply blush (cheeks, brush "lightly" onto chin, nose, and forehead areas for a healthy glow/sun kissed look......when I'm not going to be wearing any eyeshadow, I also brush lightly on some blush below the eyebrow)

8. fill in if eyebrows with a pencil (if needed)

(kids are away for the weekend, so mom and dad can have a nice romantic weekend getaway

Love, on the other hand with great discipline and practice one can learn to apply mascara and blush with the precision of a heart surgeon.

I try to make my whole makeup session less than a half an hour.

Here's a question: Do you apply setting powder to your whole face or just the dermablend part. I would think that if one sets their whole face that would kill the mascara idea. Dermablend's setting powder applied to your non-dermablended foundation has this tacky feeling long after its "set" so I quit doing that.
