GREAT VIDEO

Post by KimberlyS »

Donna that is a great video and so very true. Thank you for the link.

In one of my daughter's kid magazines she got a few years ago, there was a similar thing in print. I want to say it was American Girl (edit: it was Discovery Girls), but do not quote me on that. From what I remember, iIt had a before, makeup and after computer enhancement picture The article detailed every thing that was done, but most of the article was what was done by the computer to enhance the looks of the model. And this is what our kids are trying to be and look up to. Images that can only be achived through computer enhancement.

Its intent was to educate young girls that many of the images they see in print are fake images that can not be achived.

(Edit: my daughter said that she had also seen two other articles like that in her different magazines.)

Thank you, Donna and Marlena, I have forwarded both those sites to my 16 year old daughter!

I think she knows most of the images in the media are enhanced but it's good to see it for real and to remind her (and myself) not to beat ourselves up so much for our 'imperfections'.

Love,
Curly.

Young girls need to know this. I am going to send a link to my grand-daughter right now...she is age 10 going on 14......fortunately, she has her Danielle Marie to keep her head above water and social nonsense.
