Oh, I do keep them in most of the time, but every once in a while I'll take them out to give the hole some air, so to speak, and leave them out for a bit.
I recently tried some heavier danglies to stretch the hole a tad. Seemed to help some.
Now the problem is, I have so many nice earrings, I have a hard time choosing which I want to wear when I take the starters out

Yep - that's the same dilemma that we GG's have! Ain't it great?!!

Alana, I've been paying more attention to men's ears, lately - and I've seen quite a few with both ears pierced. More men are getting their ears pierced, and as it's more common-place than even 10 years ago, there is usually very little comment being made about them.
Just have fun with your newly pierced ears - and don't forget to wear your starter studs frequently to keep those holes open!

Alana, I hope you enjoy your pierced ears. I also had less than expected comments and my only bad comments were from family.
Enjoy,

One night when I was sleep deprived and bipolar, I decided to pierce my own ears with a sewing needle. That's right, I pulled it out of a pin cushion and just shoved it through, left then right. Then I kept a pair of earrings I had been hoarding in the hole 24/7 to make sure it would take. Of course they got infected and bled for months. But hey, I can wear earrings now! I have a preference for large 'pirate' earrings, big gaudy hoops and such.
Needless to say, when I got my eye-brow pierced I had a professional do it.

Why worry about what your co-workers would say? You can't live in fear, and life's too short not to enjoy those little things that are so harmless.
Besides, pierced ears are so common for men now, I only had two co-workers comment, and those were good comments. Also, many of the sports figures wear two earrings, as do many musicians, etc.
If there are regs at work to keep you from wearing them, because they need to remain in your ears for at least 6 weeks, then there's really nothing to stop you.
I had both my ears pierced about 5 weeks ago. I expected a lot of comments from my coworkers, because it was so out of character for me. My earrings are small silver balls, not very noticeable.
I had very few comments. Most people, if they noticed, didn't say anything. Just polite. One woman said I had the perfect ears for piercing and that they did a good job.
At least one woman didn't notice for at least 3.5 weeks. Then she said she so wanted to get me for our Secret Santa event. Planned to give me all sorts of earrings and other girlie things. (I dressed en femme for a Halloween luncheon 2 years ago, so I get some ribbing there.)
Got them done at Walmart. Didn't hurt at all. Pricking my fingers with rose thorns hurt more.
Hi,
It almost 12 months since my ear were pieced, had taken my studs out for about 2 months & now have them in again. I really don't know how women can wear clip-on earings, as I thought that they were far more painful than having your ears pieced.
I think that the secret is spraying the piecing with special anticeptic twice a day and rotating the studs a few times during the day over the first six weeks or so. This was my experience, virtually a non-event, but I really love having my ears pieced
Great response Carol. I will remember that one for the future.
