En drab, in thrift, 1/2 pass

Post by Ann Stef »

Went to a local church thrift store and picked out a nice dress. At the one person counter, a lady ahead of me had a bundle of clother to buy. A lady 2 people behind me said, let the lady with only one dress go first. The big bundle lady looked puzzled. Then the lady at the rear said, I think it is a man now.

It all seemed humorous at the time. I was wearing a wide leg capris pants, and a fllower patterened male shirt. From the rear, no make-up would be noticed, but the hair was short.

With so many women wearing shorts and pants today, I guess I could be mistaken. It was nice anyways.

Thhe dress cost me $1.00, half price on Fridays. It was rayon, with pleats from the waist down. It also had a ruffled waist. The green and yellow flower pattern was what made me buy it.

FYI, A 16W size just fits a 5"9", 180 lb frame, 38C cup, with no stretch in the dress. A snug fit at that. An 18 miss would fit about the same.

Addendum: The waist of the dress was actually Runched, not ruffled. The sleeves were long over 3/4 length, a good buy
