I pondered your question about role models for several days, trying to discern any that had an influence on me and the way I dress. I have always been female, though I could not always express my identity with the clothes I wore. Being a guy in drab meant I did my utmost not too stand out, just blend in, and I thought I was pretty successful, yet at a highschool reunion I found that EVERYONE knew who I was when I was in highschool. So much for blending in though they never thought I was really as I was.
Hmm, I guess if there is anyone that my "style" reminds me of it would be Kim Novak, though I am nowhere close to her loveliness. You rarely saw photos of Kim (unless it was for or in movies or some such event) when she was not dressed for comfort. And I dunno, maybe it doesn't hurt that she also was born intersexed, though I didn't know that until a few years ago.
As far as what I wear daily now, well it may be kinda an age thing? I go for comfort. I wear pants predominately, either jeans, nice pants if it's that kind of occasion, or sweats going to or coming back from the gym. In winter I wear sweatshirts under a jacket with a T under that. In summer/early fall, I wear Ts as casual, and have nicer T style cotton shirts and some soft knit sweaters, usually with 3/4 sleeves for semi dressy occasions, usually prefer sweaters with cowl necks and some with long sleeves for winter. The few blouses I prefer are usually white but may have vertical stripes with some tailoring for shaping. I do wear skirts when indicated, of several fabrics and lengths including denim, knit, and cotton and gauze, and I have been known to wear sun dresses and jumpers on occasion. I am a type II diabetic, and that condition dictates my footwear. No heels -- totally verbotten-- as I have trouble with neuropathy in the feet. I have boots with low heels that are very soft (and leather and expensive) and some that are soft suede, for sorta dressy with skirts in the winter/early spring, and some flats, but spend most of my time in roomy walking shoes that do not put pressure on my feet.

I let color be my friend and evoke my femininity now. Tops are very colorful, primary colors mostly since that goes with my complexion, and I coordinate pants, and shoes too, as much as possible.
