Hi,

I am looking to buy my first pair of really high heels. But I can't decide what to pick.

These pumps:

Or these strappy heels:

The pumps are probably more practical but I like strappy heels.

Oh, and I can only pick one.

What are your thoughts?

Both are very cute but made for a young women as yourself, But if I were to chose I would with the pumps.

Well the strappy is an effective 4" heel and the pump is 3.5". Spring is here and summer is coming soon enough. The pump has good reviews and the strappy none.

Are you wanting the height (6" or 5") of the shoe or the feel of the height (4" or 3.5")? Because of the season, I'd be looking at the pump in nude and that it's certainly going to be easier to walk in. Also, if you're not liking the top of your foot being rubbed when you walk, you can pad the pump. The strappy has no way to hide any corrections. The payless shoe costs less and will certainly be easier to return if you change your mind.

So. in the end for me, I wouldn't get either because I don't want a black strappy for spring or summer and I don't really want a pump for the same reason. Now for you.... If you go out in the evenings clubbing etc. then go with the strappy. If you're going to wear them during the day, go with the nude pump. Either way, make sure you have some flats in the car.

STRAPPY HEEL

The strap on the strappy heels look like they'd be hard on the Achilles tendon, provided you had a small enough ankle to get the strap around.

If they fit properly and you have the toes for 'em, the strappy would go with more outfits than the pumps.

Otherwise, the pumps.

I sooooo love strappy heels. These are higher than anything I have, but I like them. I think strappy heels are just way more sexy than pumps, and also they don't fall off your foot

Both of those shoe styles look great, but . . .

. . . while I generally prefer strappy heels (better yet, a sling-back peep-toe) over pumps, the toe straps on that pair look like they'll be digging into the toes making them uncomfortable in very short order.

So, which style would be more useful for you, meaning more outfits / more wear-time for you???

Some very sensible advice here, but are either of these sensible shoes or sensible choices? by which ever you would wear most or would give you most joy.

Okay, so I went with the strappy heels. OMG! I love them!

I never had anything so high but it feels so natural to walk in them. I really love them. I probably should have gotten a wide instead of a medium but I can live with it.

I cannot believe how sexy they make me feel!

I really thought I would be off balance of something. But not at all. I was so excited when I put them on I just started dancing.

Oh to be able to go out in them!

The strappy sandles don't realy do anything for me but those pumps are nice. :D

I prefer strap heels, but not necessarily the rope or string strap. I like wider straps, possibly on a sexy slingback. Just seems to be more comfy and that's what I look for if I'm walking a mall or park.

I also like this style which holds my ankle firm, but with a bit more flair...Heel-less. Seems to be a bit more stable than pencil or stiletto heels which I love and have plenty of...but this style just seems to be more me!

Either way, both shoes you show are very cool..I prefer leather to satin or cloth, bit HEY! It's me!

Pumps! I love pumps. Oh, did I mention that I am really fond of pumps?
