Hi ladies!

I love to wear lipstick and want to look very appropriate . I make a very passable woman and don't want to blow it with a messy lip job. I don't always apply it evenly.

Need some tips on lipstick. New to this.

I have fair skin and a somewhat ruddy complexion.

I always wear wigs since I am bald. I generally wear blonde wigs but am thinking about a brown wig as well.

What would be the ideals lipstick colors. I usually like red lips.

Also what is the purpose of lip liner and lip gloss. Is that a necessary component ? If so how do I apply them?

Your advise is appreciated by this lady.

Thanks in advance.

IMO, red lipstick generally doesn't work well for crossdressers. The strong color seems to highlight the difference between the shape of the male and female mouth. Red lips on a CD often make the mouth like a long, straight, narrow gash across the face, rather than a more rounded, feminine shape.

I found that a color close to, or a little lighter than, my natural lip color seem to work best. The glossiness of the lipstick, ore than the color, provides the femininity.

Dear Martha.

Since we are both mature ladies, some of the bold colors may draw too much attention to your face. Just my opinion, mind you, I prefer the pinks and coral lipsticks, when I wear it. Lip gloss is usually for the younger ladies to look flashy, applied over the lipstick. I've never used it though.
Since male lips are usually thinner, a liner helps make a definite edge to be filled in by the lipstick. In other words, making your natural lips look bigger and fill in the color inside the lines. Again, I don't use lip liner either, other than for special occasions.

Consider a wig with some grey in it. What ever color, it would look more natural.

Thanks ladies for the advise.

I do want to look more feminine. I will try some the colors that you recommended.

As far as the gray wig, when I dress with makeup and my blonde wigs I look 15 to 20 years younger.

But why not some gray. After all I am a mature lady.

This lady thanks you.

You might want to try going on youtube and doing a search for applying lipstick to mature lips. There is a variety of videos on there I have watched. Some are a pretty complicated process and done by pros but with some practice I'm sure you can work out something that works for you.

Lip liner was intended to keep lipstick from bleeding outwards from the lip. However, it can be used as a base coat, so when the lipstick starts to wear off, the liner appears and the wear on the lipstick doesn't look so bad. Also, it can be use to trace an outline larger than the lips to make them look bigger, and enhance the bow.

I prefer lipsticks with a berry tint. Or hot pink, at times.

Gloss just makes the lips shinier, sexier.
