Consider Juniors clothing lines

Post by Linda S »

You might want to add Juniors clothing lines to your shopping rounds. These are items generally aimed at teens/twentysomethings, both in style and fit, but they may actually work out better for some CDs than the Misses or Womens lines.

Juniors clothes generally have smaller hip sizes, which can be good for CDs who find most female pants/jeans too full in that area. I love the trendy "skinny" jeans, and have found the best fits in the Juniors lines. Also, because some of us have shorter legs, proportionally, than women, the shorter skirts found in the Juniors lines can become the "a-few-inches-above-the-knee" length common in business wear.

As a bonus, Juniors items are often a lot cheaper than equivalent items in Misses/Womens. Of course, in some cases they're not as well made, and they're not the well-known designer brands, but since most of us go out just occasionally and aren't going to be interviewing or going to business meetings, that really doesn't matter.

Many department stores have Juniors sections, and stores like Forever 21, H&M and Charlotte Russe specialize in those items. Some of them have Plus Size lines, so don't rule out Juniors just because you're on the larger side.

It may seem strange that a CD in his 50s makes some of his best fashion finds in places catering to teenage girls and trendy young women, but you can't argue with a good fit and style at a good price!

Thank you Linda, will check on that. I would love to wear pants or jeans, like my daughter suggested one day, but I am bothered with the "below the belt" thing and not until I found a way to hide that obstacle, I am still wearing skirts. But yes I would love to have some pants.

BTW, my fav. is Rainbow, and K.G Fashion.
I am a woman of trans experience.

Ms. Erin, the contraption for hiding them parts down below is called a gaff. Some of us simply wear a contrrol panty and tuck. I wear jeans when I expect to be out on the colder days or is I'm spending a day shopping with my GG friends. Come to think of it, none of my friends do a day of shopping in a skirt or dress.

I miss the day when I could wear Juniors *sigh* BUT at least I can still wear their shoes :) I haven't figured out why they are called juniors other than maybe they are aimed at teh younger folk. Juniors tend to be my cuter shoes.
