What's your favorite bra, you know the go-to everyday, most comfortable one? Mine is the Maidenform Comfort Devotion Extra Coverage bra, #9404. I love it as it is available in a variety of colors and patterns.

OK girls, what's yours? I am looking forward to hearing input from both girls who wear forms like me as well as those with breasts. Please specify if you use breastforms and what size you are.

I don't have a favorite bra, but I have my go to bra that does exactly what I need it to do. It's a mastectomy bra in beige. It's keeps the girls from ever being free range and it's good as a tee shirt bra, a not so opaque top bra and as an all day bra. "All day" means it fits right. My mastectomy bras are not under wire, but all my other bras are. My other bras come in a range of colors and prints. So I don't have a favorite bra so much as I have different bras for purposes.

Like most women I have many bras of different types and styles. My go to everyday bra though is the Warners "This is not a bra" underwire. Comfy, well most days, supportive, and comes in wide variety of colors.

Being a D cup means that most of my bras are chosen more for support and comfort than those chosen by a lot of the girls here who use breastforms. Not sure I havve a single favorite, a lot depends on my outfit, what I am doing that day, and how the ``girls`` feel. For work I wear a Wacoal minimizer underwire bra, they have several styles and I think I have at least one of each. Sure they aren`t cheap but I and my ``girls`` are worth it! :)

My favorite is a wireless all over lace bra by comfort choice I got from Woman Within on sale awhile back. It is comfortable to wear and holds my forms well. I seem to favor it. I do wear sports bras a lot when I'm working someplace I can get away with doing it. They are more comfortable to wear with the work that I do.

I`ve been a Soma girl for a long time. Probably because it was at a Soma boutique I had my first fitting and they treated me with respect. :) I have several different styles of their bras but for everyday I prefer a full coverage style same as you Melissa. I have found they hold my forms best whether they are attached or not. I wear a 38B, have for years although I still go once a year for a fitting and yes to my local Soma boutique.

We both prefer either Playtex or Glamorise. Full coverage, no wire, and heavy duty. The Playtex styles are the 18 hour, padded straps, #4049 or #4159. There are others in our collection, a few for special occasions. We wear the same band size which is not pleasing to admit. She's not that skinny, so I must be too large. We are different in cup size, her forms are DD, I'm bigger and home grown. :)

I had to retype some of this response. I still have difficulty calling my husband 'she' without making the text seem like I'm in a lesbian relationship! To use male pronouns doesn't look right either.

Before coming out, she would 'borrow' my bras. Besides finding out that my husband dressed female, him wearing my intimates was just as disturbing. Now, I have mine and she has hers. That helps quite a bit. So ladies, whatever bra you wear, please buy your own.

I agree with you Melissa about the Maidenform 9404. It is cute with its lace trim on the cups and does hold forms in place vey well. I also like the Maidenfrom #7958 under t-shirts and tighter tops, no lace to show through. I prefer the smooh look under tops to try to avoid drawing attention to my undies. BTW I am a 34C with my forms and a lot less without them.

So far my favorite bra is the one that fits. Getting it right makes such a difference. It took a visit with the SO and talking about sizing that she then guided me in the right direction. The first bras I bought are going bye bye and slowly replacing them with proper fitting ones.. so many choices! (I love it btw) I spend hours just shopping online seeing what's available.

My all-time favorite kind of bra isn't being sold any more.

Sure, I bet a lot of us have that complaint! But my faves go back into the bras of the '90s when Bali and others made lightweight fun bras in all kinds of cool patterns and colors.

The bras of today are sad by contrast, by my lights. Blah no-color "colors" (white, black, flesh, rarely any chromatic color) binding, unfeminine ...

I love vibrant, colorful bras, preferably multicolor. Where are they? Not on the market, so far as I can tell. I do keep on the lookout for older ones to turn up, and sometimes I get lucky.

O where are the bras of yesteryear? More to the point, if any of you know of any current lightweight colorful multicolored bras (me Jane, me 44C), let me know in this thread!

Love, Marissa Mae

Marrissa Mae,

Where are the bras from yesteryear, you ask? That means to me the bullet bras Mom wore in the 50's. The 90's seem like yesterday. How do you shop for bras? The average store will not carry much in your size. You need to browse big girl stores or catalogs. We both catalog shop, he's too timid to shop in person, I find it convenient and sales seem more frequent.

For pretty colors and patterns, try http://www.womanwithin.com/Plus-Size-Br ... ptId=19683" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That is such a difficult question for me!

By now I have so many bras I could start a used lingerie store if such a thing existed, just with my bra collection, never mind the panties. :)
I have so many to choose from, that it is impossible to say which one, or even which model or brand, is my favourite.
What I like to wear depends on a lot of things and quite often I pick something that at least resembles something that I saw on a GG I spotted at work or in public, whom I thought to be well dressed.
It gives me a kick to see a woman somewhere and thinking that I have something similar or almost exactly the same, which is why I often buy stuff that I've seen.
It enables me to feel that I wear something that a GG would really wear, instead of something that just fits my fantasy.

Currently, I mostly prefer bras that cover the faux breasts that I use as much as possible, so you can't see that what I have in that area is a complete and utter fraud.
I own a couple of Triumph bras, minimizers and such like, which I think are what you would call full cup or almost that anyway.
I also have a few from Plaisir that also manage to cover my faux breasts.
Right now I really, really love bras that have these little rings in them on the back, especially ones that have that ring high up.
Why? Because I noticed them on a number of women and suddenly that is what I need.

But I also have a lot of bras that don't cover my fake boobies entirely, so I combine those with clothes that completely cover the revealed material.
I would love to have something that allows me to reveal cleavage and the upper part of a boob without looking completely fake, but does such a thing even exist?

What I use to replace that which I do not have?
Well, I cut off the cups from two bras.

One bra was pretty tiny, but had these kind of sacks behind the cups where you could discreetly put some filling into.
I stuffed those things like it was an stuffed turkey about to be put into the oven, using some strips of fabric from a dress that I had bought that turned out to be the wrong size.
Instead of fabric I had earlier used silicon breast enhancements a GG might use to give her a little extra in that area, but at one time I fell asleep with them and somehow crushed one of them, so it burst and leaked icky silicon everywhere that was such a pain to remove that I just threw out everything that had been contaminated, including a duvet.
I have been avoiding them ever since, even threw out the remaining ones that I had, they were never visible anyway and their only advantage was that they had these tiny nipple like things.

The other bra was a bigger push up bra, with built-in padding.

I put the bigger cup on the smaller one, then insert them into my bra and twist them just right.
If the bra covers enough of them, it results in two nice round shape, that resemble breasts if you don't look that closely.
There is an area at the top and basically there where the cleavage is supposed to be that is missing, an opening.
So far, it is the best I have and if I adjust my wardrobe accordingly, it works for me.
Best of all, they feel pretty natural to me, similar to the silicone stuff, although granted, I am regrettably not exactly very experienced groping actual breasts.
Breasts are awesome, so I miss that and make do with groping my own.. 8)

Oh yeah, this is also, of course, a pretty cheap solution.
Not that I really care about cheap any more at this point.
