How To Keep Lipstick On

Post by Martha G »

Usually when I eat and drink my lipstick comes off and I have to apply more.

I believe that there are some that will minimize this effect.

Do you ladies know of any that will pretty much stay on fairly well after eating and drinking.

I always have my compact and lipstick in my purse to make my lips pretty again.

I haven't found a foolproof way other than to use a lip stain, but that's hit and miss as to whether I can take it all off at the end of the day. Eating, drinking and smoking are all hard on lipsticks anyway and you might just have to reapply.

What I do is use a lip liner over all of my lips in a matching colour to the lipstick then apply my lipstick and blot once then use a tissue held up to my lips I take some translucent powder on a brush and dab it over the lips through the tissue. The tissue lets the tiniest amount of powder through to the lipstick effectively taking some of the "sticky" off of the surface of the lipstick making it less likely to stick to a wineglass, cup, cigarette etc.

That's what I do hopefully there will be others with better ideas.

Love,
Michelle.

That is what I do as well.

Otherwise, I suggest an an all day color stay lipstick

Donna, are they like lip stain or just heavily pigmented lipstick. Any brands you recommend?

Thanks,
Michelle

Most of you ladies enjoy seeing the lipstick stain on a wine glass, or whatever. There is a reason that most woman drink beverages using a straw when wearing lipstick, less transfer to the glass.
Dressing for just one night or a few hours, you don't want 24 hour wear.

My husband uses a lipstick sealer. Amazing what a wife can learn about! Distributed by Beauty Icons, Inc. The label says 'Invisible Finish, Lipstix, Lipstick Sealer. A little .5 oz. bottle goes along way and seems to work well.

I will try the lipstick sealer and lipstick.

Going to a party one doesn't need a 24 hour type. I don't want to wake of the next day without being able to get the lipstick off.

Thanks so much ladies.

I don't use them, so can't recommend any particular brand.
