That's because an array of online retailers based abroad (frequently in China) are advertising eye-poppingly good deals on clothes that are on trend and super cute… according to the photos used to market them.

But it turns out — as many recent examples have shown — that the deals are often too good to be true, and those persuasive photos are merely ripoffs from legit retailers.

Burned shoppers report a range of problems, such as receiving items way off scale from the size they ordered, waiting months for items to arrive, and discovering the item was unsatisfactory — but finding the return process expensive or impossible. Some even report having their credit card information stolen and used abroad after the purchase."

FWIW, about a month ago Virginia has purchased a wig from retailer #4 because it was inexpensive and, luckily, she had no problems with that retailer.

Thank you for the heads up. There is a many china online retailers that have poor business practices.

We never order from sites we're not familiar with, regardless of price. Their own site reviews are unreliable. Do a search off site for more honest opinions.
Surely, there are much more than just those 8.

I will shop for women's items from the retailers that I already know and trust, with the obvious exception of cross dressing items! Many of these online retailers offer specials that I take advantage of depending which "side" of me I am shopping for.

Yes I have to agree with you on some item's that you have to shop for have to come from other sources. That is why I have been using some I know of on eBay but you have to pick and choose carefully.

Where was this post a few weeks ago? I recently ordered a new wig from Sammy Dress; I hope I actually get it.

I ordered a dress from Sammy Dress once - their idea of XL sizes do not fit reality here in the US! When I buy a dress locally, at JC Penneys, or Sears, or Kohls, I fit in a size 12 nicely. Looking at the dresses on the Sammy Dress website I decided to order an XL just to be safe. The photo showed the dress reaching the model's knees but the actual garment barely made it onto my thighs! And there was no way I could zip it up over my chest. Their models are evidently barely 5' tall! But the prices are great so I only lost about $10 and the local thrift shop got a brand new donation!

Well I finally received the wig that I ordered from Sammy Dress and it is wonderful; took a while to arrive but well worth it.

When I do a search for clothing on Evilbay. I normally pick US only. To many times have I saw an item that I loved. Upon checking the XL sizing is for a 10-12. Unfortunately some items I look for are mostly from over seas. Now they are touting US seller. but once you look at the auction or ad. They have the same chinese layout.

I am seeing more and more foreign business getting US ties so they can say they are a US business or are selling from within the US. Sometimes it seems little more than a person with a US address or a front business being a US warehouse for a foreign business. As always buyer beware. I hate sites that really will not tell you where the business is located. I figure if a business can not tell me where they are at and a bit about them, they do not need my business.
