The joy of new clothes or shoes purchases...

Post by Lacey Hadley »

Mmmm there is something about purchasing new clothes, shoes, boots, accessories and cosmetics. Buying male clothes and footwear is pretty meh mundane even if one tries to dress nicely or sharp as a male. But browsing for and buying female clothes and footwear is soooooo much more fun. I'll admit I buy mostly on line now as it's just easier to shop for and buy stuff of a greater variety than what often is available in local stores. I know one takes a chance with sizing but I found that oh maybe 75-80% of the time I get my size pretty close.

Most shoes I buy online are pretty close to matching women's size to my male size. Sometimes shoes or boots bought from China can be too small or even too big for the size they are said to be but again most fit me well enough. There is just so much variety to browse and choose from online. I know buying in a store can be more viscerally fun and I have and do that but not so much today as say 10-15 years ago. If I had a sig other or female friend that I could entrust my cding with I'd probably do more brick and mortar shopping. But females I've befriended in recent times are unaware of Lacey.

Outerwear can be hit and miss in sizing for me online but I just choose to go up a larger size than normal especially if buying from Chinese sellers. I'd rather it being a tad too big than too small. Yes in my female mind I wish I fit into say size 6-7 :haha: but being a typical sized male I fit into size 12-16 typically.

Yes some of the more affordable ladies clothes made in China can be a lesser quality, but since I do not dress F/T or near F/T it's OK, the illusion these clothes give me as a girl is still there and fun. When I do buy better and more costly clothes and footwear it's easy to see the quality improvement though.

But I have a thing for some articles of clothing as I'm sure many of you others do. I luv most women's clothes but I just bought for myself a lovely black, faux fur, open front cropped jacket. Mmm... Mmmm...Mmmmmmm it looks lovely and feels so FEMININE!!!! :teddybear: I bought some short and sexy skirts (skater style with flared, loose pleats.) Yes maybe a bit too young and too short for me but I'm lucky to still look youthful. I also have a pair of faux black leather tight pants coming and yes tucking to make em look good will be a chore but I picture how sexy they will be on my long legs with a pair of spike heel shoes or ankle boots on.

I guess we each have certain things femme we like to see on ladies and to wear dressed as girls. My ex-wife dressed so fine all the time. I miss that about her.

I love satin blouses, love pencil skirts, love most any spike heel closed toe pump (my toes are not pretty enough to wear open toe shoes :crying: and I luv spike or wedge heel boots, ankle, calf high, knee high and over the knee high styles.

What are some of your faves ladies?

As to cosmetics. Mmmmmmm so much fun to play with them. Yep the costs can add up but the choice of cosmetics is so wide. I do find buying true name brand items a better quality. Buying on sale helps but the cheap stuff can be ok to learn with but do not give the same finish as name brands do. I do not buy the high end 'celebrity' type stuff as I think they are over priced for what they give. I try out and stick with the name commercial brands mostly and when in the mood luv  . doing myself up. I will admit especially being a male trying to look as female as I can, that it can take a good length of time, between 30-45 minutes and sometimes I can't be bothered as such. But once I do my makeup I luv, luv, luv, how Lacey looks. I then feel so squishy feminine :teddybear: ***()***

Dressed up as such I find Lacey is a photo narcissist. I have a long history of photography including professional, my photographic eyes can see me setup on my tripod cameras to light and make very good photos. I have made and will keep making THOUSANDS of cool, sexy, pretty, beautiful, portraits of Lacey. :laptop:

Hi Lacey,

I'm glad you mentioned that you don't always buy the best quality and that's because it simply doesn't need to hold up like wearing it more often when full time. I too will buy a lesser quality item and be a bit trendy. If we bought top of the line and wanted to keep up with the current trends, we'd all be broke.

Look at my gallery and you will see what's my fave attire at the moment. As for makeup, I like my colors and I use my eyes for that. The rest of my face is just ordinary with my cement layer and enough color to bring back hopefully a natural look.

Could not agree more, Lacey! There is something about shopping for new clothes - and I've been purchasing a lot lately! *Really need to consider taking a break from shopping for a while... _P Hmmm... just as all the new fall styles are coming out? 8-[ I'll try to restrain myself for at least a little bit!

Online shopping does make it so much easier and there is so much more variety, but shopping in store can just be so fun & exciting. Isn't it great to have either option?

In the cooler months, I usually like going for the career/professional look - blouse, skirt, heels, cardi. Much more casual in the summertime though - capris, a cute summer dress, shorts, etc... I admit that some of my choices might be a bit young for me too, but it's not like I am going out in public. If that was the case, I would definitely dress to blend and age-appropriate, so probably the soccer mom look - jeans, tall boots, a cute t with a scarf and maybe a light jacket. And accessories of course... I love to accessorize! And love the cosmetics too - just wish there was more time to dress! What's that saying... "So many clothes, so little time"? I totally get it now, LOL!!

For me, the joy thing happens when I buy wigs. I do like buying women's clothes and makeup, but the real joy comes when I'm buying a wig and this transformative thing comes. When I get the right wig I can kind of feel it "clicking" with my face and there's a kind of satisfaction there like I know that I've got it.

An appropriate wig is so key to getting your transformation right, like you've got this magic thing right there. So when I find one that works, it's a joyful thing to me. The people in the shop can pick up on that and that can be nice too.

Anthony,

I agree about getting the right wig(s) for you. When you find a wig that fits your look and your vision of being feminine it's like magic.

Recently for the fun of it I made a video for my personal keeping of me being dolled up, make up, under garments and selecting the outwear I felt like wearing that day. Each step brought out a bit more of the girl in me but when I put on the wig it was like a magic wand. I went from looking like a guy in makeup and with a blouse, skirt and hose on, to looking like a lady. Lacey just popped out in the video. Some earrings and stepping into a pair of heels finished the look off.

Watching the video was allowing me to see me from a 3rd person perspective, it was cool but OMG once that wig was on, I could hardly believe how it changed my look. ***()***

You did a great job of expressing your joy! I suspect that many of us share similar feelings. As I see it, these are some of the pleasures that can be experienced as a result of CDing.

I very much licked your posting, I wear a 9 1/2 in shoes and a 10 in boots due to my extremely high arches from over 30 plus years.
I am mostly a separates girl due to smaller waist and rather large bust. So dresses have to be tailored or of stretch material. so my skirts are 2 sizes small that my tops.
But even so the sizes still vary from a 10 to 12 skirt and from a 12 to 14ow do top.
By the way, how does one get her photo to show on a posting?
Alexis?

Hi Alexis,

To add a photo to your profile you have to first make sure the photo you wish to use is sized small enough as per guidelines max 200px x 200px. Once you have a photo sized as such you can go to your User Control Panel look for PROFILE and see the line YOUR AVATAR, follow instructions and ta da you will have a photo of yourself with each posting.

As to clothes, I too mostly have skirts and tops as again for most males these may work better. This said I do love cute and sexy dresses and have a few but I will look for more. I do find looser fitting dresses will better work the genetic male body.

I finally recently got my pair of black skinny fitting faux-leather pants and OMG I love how they feel and look. I am able to keep my cough cough privates tucked well enough to not be much an issue, but a sexy blouse, these skinny faux-leather pants and a pair of high heel boots, ankle or knee high, well for Lacey it's all to die for. @@9@@ :teddybear: :please:

Hi Carole,

I agree CDing can offer some pleasures that are so unique and special. Nothing in my in drab mode can give said pleasures. It's a very different mindset for me as Lacey when dolled up as a girl. \:D/
