Hi,

Time to get ready for our Edwardian group day out and evening .
We start on, the Friday night, at the local Cafe on Queens a food shop come café and big enough for large groups so we go there quite a lot,

This time we will be reinacting a week end in Wales all dressed in their style of clothes we have not defined a time so will encompass some from 1700 to 1920,s or so, , and food will be from some where in the time frame .

I have started on my skirt and will be long sort of browns / dark red burgundy plus an over skirt in brown and with pinny more like a maids pinny , the blouse will be white long sleaves and very little trim on the wrists open neck and top over in brown open neck very short sleaves head wear similar to a babys bonnit with a tie on under the chin in white and a shawl in brown I think, and on top a hat a bit like a stove pipe its about 10 in,s high in black with a rim around it have to make one ,

Next set of clothes will be , slightly different will be a red over .looks like a top with half sleaves with a stitched seam slighty to the left and could be buttoned head wear the same now the skirt not sure yet have a think about that there is another colour I like its purple with a brown colour mixed in .
boots to suit and in keeping with the times .

I quite like the red over top as that sets it off very nicely so tomorrow more looking for fabrics,

No 1 skirt is almost done . now I do have pleanty of skirts from my Renaissance garb so if I need to change my idears I,ll bring them in to and mix and match if needed ,

Wales , if you wont to have a look go to ,,, all things Wales = facts of Wales .

We plan ahead by one year ahead so we = committee know what we are doing , so still have prep to do and this will take place in 6 months time .

felly dim ond y diweddaraf o'n grwp

Hi,

Briton is made up of many different tribes and depending on where they came from did bring their own idears and history much was not written so some was lost some 21 different tribes maybe more and over what time it took to settle, Romans of cause were sent there as a armed force and familys were told to go as back up for the Garrison,s

A turbulent history involved battles with the Romans, , Saxons. Vikings , normans. English ,

Wales comes from the Anglo =saxon word Waleas meaning foreigner .

try this llanfairpwllgwyngygogerychwyndrobwyllllantysilogogogch.= means The church of Mary in the hollow of the white hazel near the fierce whirlpool and the church of Tyssilio by the red cave . though for short known as LIanfair .

Im staying with German easy as , any way ,

And if I have left a letter out , tough ........and no im nowt a welsh off shoot sorry the leek is the emblem .

at this time im not sure if they had a dress code as such seems to me to be made up and combined with clothes of other parts of England not figgered that out yet. still working on that .

All Things Welsh is a good start for info.
