Does a garter belt go over panties or under?

That really depends Jessica. I f you are looking to do photos and look like the Victoria Secrets models then it goes over your panties. However if you are looking for practical such as being able to use the powder room without having to undo your stockings then it goes under. That way you can just slide your panties down and do your business.

Under also works in the bedroom if that is your goal.

I have to admit to being old enough to remember those days Eileen speaks of and she is right. After my one grandmother passed away I remember helping to clean out her house so it could be sold. One afternoon it was just my aunt and I and we were cleaning out her bedroom. My aunt was cleaning out her dresser and she pulled out one of those old fashioned garter belts and held it up. All I could do was laugh and say something to effect of "Things have certainly change."

Don't forget we had a choice back then, a garter belt or several styles of girdles. At my high school most of us wore girdles rather than the garters. This was in the '60's, just before pantyhose came on the market. That would be about the time of the Beatles invasion to put it in a musical memory!

I just ended up going with the stay up kind.
