Thank you for posting this Bob.
I found this very interesting indeed. Here we have people who are supportive, yet are not being educated by a cross-dresser, as a cross-dresser did not initiate this thread.
In fact It would appear that the support may be coming from cross-dressers, due to the depth of some of the comments.
When ever I see some thing like this I always ask myself how much of this is coming from like minded people, who are not willing to be identified as such?
And who is it that is really being educated?

Hi all,
I posted my first response before I was aware of the second link.
Surprised anyone?

I've shopped there with no problems, however, I've never asked to try anything on.
Thanks for the post.

Thanks Bob
I found the messages very comforting, especially since I was just at LB Monday night (dressed en femme) purchasing some things.

Hi Bob,
That was really cool seeing that. My wife was manager of a Dressbarn and Dressbarn Womens. Crossderssers are recognized as a part of their clientelle and are treated accordingly.
I have shopped in Lane Bryant and was treated great. Also got some great deals on the sale rack. Everything was very professional.
Love always,
Elizabeth

I found that original LB MB thread (CD's at Lane Bryant) both comforting and appalling. I never shopped in person at LB, but I was on their mailing list and regularly bought clothes from them. I thought they provided a reasonable product for a very reasonable price. (Unlike a CERTAIN large CD Store in NYC I might mention.) And thanks for the link to AVENUE(
www.avenue.com) which I had not heard of. I am very glad to hear that these stores appreciate our business, and have taught their staff well.
On the other hand, some of the other posts WERE depressing, but necessary to read. While many of us wish to display our personal apparel choices in public places, many people are offended by this. We are NOT "Missionaries for CD Acceptance". We need to respect the wishes and sensibilities of others, even if these put limitations on our behavior. GG's do this all the time. It is called "being a lady". If you can pass, shop en femme. If you can't, then shop en drab (but dress up a notch, least you be thought a drug addict, as someone had commented on the LB site). You need not tell everyone around you that the clothes are for you. Shop, ask the salespeople if they have a private try on area, if not, do as they suggest.
All this just "IMHO".

I didn't get to read the link above because the website is down for there forum. However I'm glad they are CD friendly because they are local and conveniant. I had a sales clerk suspected I was shopping for me vs my wife but I let her think that. She was very friendly
