Hi Gurlz,
I have been having quite a problem with nail color. L'Oreal used to have a good selection of colors in their Jet Set (quick drying) collection. Right now, they have a dearth of color. L'Oreal was about the only color that would adhere to my nails. Right now, I have been trying a lot of nail polish, base coats and top coats. Essie works fine with their maximum adhesion base coat and top coat. I tried Sally Hansen maximum adhesion base coat with Revlon color and Sally Hansen coat. That did not work and most of the color did not adhere to the nail. The problem with Essie is that they have a lot of similar colors and nothing like a purplish red or purple. I am goig to try OPI Bogota Blackberry for the purplish red, my favorite all around color.
I only color my nails for special occasions. Most of the time, including most enfemme events, I wear a clear nail strengthener such as Nutranail and now L'Oreal Steel top & base coat.
Are there any nail pros out there that know what my problem. I am out with my GG sister and she does not color her nails. I thought this problem maybe genetic.
I will be at First Event from January 18 to 23.

Hugs,
Rita Knight

I bought some OPI for my wife for Xmas, and she bought some for me. It goes on real nice, and we also use the OPI Start and Finish, which includes a nail strengthener for a base coat and is also used as a top coat.

If you have trouble with polish coming off, you may want to wipe the nails with either alcohol or nail polish remover first, to remove any oils on the surface of the nails, then apply the base coat and polish.

Hi Donna and Gurlz,
Last night, I did some experimenting. The OPI nail polish did adhere when I used Sally Hansen maximun adhesion base coat and top coat. It did not adhere with the Essie base coat and top coat. I tired a 5 year old bottle of Orly with the Essie. That did adhere. Go Figure.
