Re: The Julie Chronicles, part 2

Hi Julie,

It took an event for me to realize I wasn't gay. I heard when gay men look at a man or men they get aroused down there. It took a while of thinking, but when it registered that didn't happen to me... lol... I realized I wasn't gay. :) How stupid am I? I was in my late 20's before the stars aligned and I heard that.

You're a geneticist. Wow! Very cool. I say that because it's cool to have as a job, but it's super cool that even the genetic reasons for us CDing, at this time, aren't logical to you. That's really interesting. I never thought about a CD'r who is a scientist. :)

I wore my mom's clothes too. I didn't have any females that I could borrow their clothes.

Did you ever tell your mom? I thought my mom noticed things too, but after I came out to her, she said she didn't have even the slightest clue. I could have sworn I was so obvious! :?:

I own 3 pairs of shoes -- dress shoes that are probably 15 years old, running shoes, and walking around in shoes, which is what my running shoes become after they're too worn out from running. Oh, and my Berkes. For once I was ahead of the fashion trend and have been wearing them for about 30 years.

Julie
Your post was so good that by the time I finished I wasn't wearing drabbe clothing. :) That's what I call a great post!!! :)

Your post helped me break a VERY long spell of me not dressing. :)

THANK YOU JULIE!!!!

Hi Julie--
Nice post. I could identify with a lot of that. I used to have to safety-pin my mother's bras to get them to stay on me. Like, she couldn' t NOTICE this? But nothing was said.

You being a scientist is interesting to me, too. That's not a profession I've seen a lot of in CD forums, along with doctors and lawyers. I once speculated in a post that I thought that was because the risk is still too great in high-profile professions. It's certainly not because there's no CD doctors, lawyers, or scientists--CDing is an equal opporunity practice.

A disability of any kind tends to make one very grateful for the people that are close to them. It really does help sort out what's important and what in't.

Hi Julie,

Warm fuzzies are great. :)

I'm a little under 6'2" so I understand the way you feel. :)

Hi all,

Julie,

That post isn't one we have to "wade" through; it's more like a refreshing swim in a vast ocean! And I saw myself reflected in the waters, too. Thanks, girl!

Beauty,

I'm glad you "came back to yourself." Dry spells are no fun. :(

I miss you.

Love,
CJ

Julie: I love all your posts. I could read them all day long. Without you, I would never have learned about interesting people like Joan Roughgarden.

Why do I admire you so? Well, we both share a deep respect and love for science, that's one. My older brother is a retired PhD microbiologist who worked for NIH, and dad really was a rocket scientist (as I've mentioned before).

But also, well, obviously we share more than science, being on this forum. For example, I only began to notice the non-sexual pleasure and comfort of feminine apparel in about the last ten or fifteen years. I also thought of myself as a pervert.

I am the shortest of four brothers (two are half-brothers), as I am only 6'1/4" so I can relate to bumps on the head now and then, and having to select a car that is tall enough on the inside.

Then too, I love how well you write. You make sense.

As I told your daughter ("D.P.") the other day, you and Kate are in my prayers nearly every day, and I am just not a religious person.

Hugs,

Bernice

That didn't come out right. :(

I'm sorry. As I told Julie I'm just not jazzed about what's happening and it came out.

I'm sorry about that Julie. :(

Julie is gone from the forum, perhaps. Missed, terribly. But never forgotten.

Let this be another valuable lesson: to never pass on an opportunity to say something supportive, or to make a friend. You sometimes don't get another chance.
