I have been crossdressing since the late sixties, and my story, and how all this started has been posted on my website if you are really interested. Please come by and read if you would like, that is what I wrote it for. :)

Bethany, i read your website/story a while back. An interesting and good read. It must have taken you some time to write all of what you wrote as it is well written.

Bethany - I was reading a couple of chapters this morning - as I was in the process of approving you for membership - and I'm looking forward to going back and reading more. I hope that your wife could be persuaded to join our forum, too!

Thank you for your kind words about my writing! I have to say, I am sorry, but my wife doesn't understand why I identify with other cd's. She likes and has no issues with cd's, but has always known me enfemme, and doesn't feel after 37 years I should have any issues about it. Truly, in a way I don't, but I am fascinated by knowing there are others. You see, when I started, the only cd's that were in the public knowledge were fetishists, or transvestites, (old definitions). I didn't see myself as one of those, so I just figured that I was unique, (yes, egotistical I know). Well, with the advent of the net, and more liberal social thinking, I started to become aware of the fact that I was not alone with this. I have become fascinated by other cd's and their experiences, and feel the pain they have from the repression of their society. I never really spent any time in the closet because I didn't realise it was an alternative, so it just kills me to see how hard it is for those people who ended up in the closet to cope.

I guess I am trying to justify myself here, but really, I just ment to say that my wife would not be interested, I am sorry, she could probably give a great deal of insight, but there you have it. I am glad to be here though, and thank you for approving my membership!

Wow, Bethany. That is some of the best writing I've seen in quite awhile. I wish my beginnings were as interesting as yours. :P

Bethany.
You are no doubt one of our "pioneers" unbeknownst to you! I can not begin to imagine what it must have been like for some of our sisters, having to deal with this "gift" and no educational assistance and/or "the web." I know me and several of my sisters here would have been in very dire straights had we not found this site. Yes there are other sites, but this one and a lot of my sisters here saved this girl from a very dangerous "situation." Also using the term unique is not egocentric. We are all on what has been described as a "crossdressers continuum." We are all at various places, some of us move from one place to another and others are content to stay where they are. It is just that we have a "gift" and it, in my humble opinion, is something to be loved, nurished, treasured, and shared. I have found that sharing it returns benefits constantly and beyond my wildest dreams!
Thanks for "stepping out in faith" for us and I hope you will stay and share with us.
Love,
Virginia
