My mom

Post by HayleyF »

Her is my story and it started when I was 11 years old.My mom had a talk with me one night and asked me if I would dress as a girl for a ritual.I thought about it and said yes.My mom's side of the family is into rituals and they thought about it a week before, dress a nephew, son as a girl.It started privately and progressed outside.I knew one thing, the the clothes were very comfortable and I loved wearing them.It started there and never stopped. My mom never gave up on me and is very supportive to this day.

Welcome to the forum Hayley. I bet that it was nice to have a supportive mother. That is an interesting ritual. Does it have some type of back ground to its origin? Is it something they do with all of the boys? Is it something they continue to do?

What exactly was the ritual?

They started this when I was 11.My mom talked at first which I said yes.My then took me shopping for girls clothing and saw I had a ball.I dressed privately at first.I dress ed publically after that. The last step was to show my female side to family. They said I looked beautiful as a girl.It continues to this day.

Sounds like a family that is run by the women to me. And they do this ritual with all of the males?

I still don't quite understand what happened. Did they see that you liked to dress as a girl and create a ritual for this, a sort of just in the family welcoming thing like a coming out out party? Or was it a pre existing ritual like having you be Santa Lucia instead of it being the oldest daughter? (that's a Swedish tradition that was big in our church when I was little) How many other boys did this in your family?

Hayley, I am very much in favor of personally created rituals as a way of handling Psychological pressures. I have used them myself, and found them to be very helpful. Even though I am a skeptic where organized religion is concerned,I have practiced a small, personal, ritual dance every morning for nearly the last ten years. It lets me begin my day with a good attitude. I am guessing that you felt better about your feminine side after your mother's imaginative ritual.
I am a vessel of the Goddess. Let me express my calling to a feminine life through nurturing love and relatedness.

Didn't have a ritual here. I dirtied up my last clean play clothes in a local creek. My optionb was to stay in PJ's in my room, or wear one of my sisters dresses and play in the rest of the house. My mom didn't consider it pressure. I chose the latter, and wore a dress for two days until my clothes were cleaned. My sisters didn't say much as they felt that my mom had a reason to dress me then. I did enjoy helping her out in the kitchen for two days and played with my sisters for a while also.
Happiness is dressing to your innermost desire and feeling.

I suspect another agenda somewhere. If your family could afford pj's they could afford to wash your clothes in less time than 2 days, even if it just meant washing them in the kitchen sink.

i used to get punished for getting dirty. My mom REALLY didn't understand boys. But I just had to take a bath and go to my room.

Your Mom is so sweet. My mother knew That i loved girly things so she encourged my femmmy side. I think she really enjoyed turning her son into her daughter.
Just starting to explore my feminine nature- am very shy meek and demure. Addicted to looking and acting ladylike. Still have so many questions about exactly who I am- have so many mixed emotions about my gender issues.
