How I rweally got started
Wow, what an interesting subject. Like almost everyone else I started very young. My neighbor was the girl that let me try on her clothes and I was hooked, but, that was just a teaser. I went to a Halloween party at 12, dressed as, well what do you think, a girl. My mom bought me the skirt, sweater and low heels. She did my makeup and my hair which was long in a short ponytail and I wore bright red tights under the plaid skirt. I'll never forget the night, only my 2 neighbors knew I wasn't a girl. It was great, but, my really best start was when I was 14. I went to a party dressed like Sandra Dee. Gray poodle skirt, pink angora sweater, brown round toe stiletto heels. My hair was really long, so I was able to wear it in a ponytail, (Beatles time). I wore a pantie girdle and bra which was stuffed with popcorn seeds. That's what really got me started and at 16 I started buying my own shoes and clothes and have never stopped. I remember going into the girls store for a dress and the sales lady asked if I was looking for a gift for my sister and I said no, it was for me. She looked at me for a moment and then said, you look like a size 8 and that was it. The same thing happened to me the first time I went to buy shoes. I said I wanted those heels in the window and the salesman asked what size and I said I'm not sure, so he measured my foot and I bought 2 pair of heels. I bit the bullit and did it. It wasn't easy, but, nothing was going to stop me from looking like a girl. It seems like it was ages ago, and it was. I love being femme and hope I can do it for years to come. Miriam

Gee Mariam, It took me all my life to realize that I could buy female clothes in a store for myself and admit to the SA and cashier that the clothes are for me. You are lucky to have realized its not a big deal.
I hope that all CDs that are on here realize that no one really bats an eye when you say "Its for me". Good luck and hope to chat somtime
