My son

He's now 6 yo. We do not know if he's TG, but he has been fairly consistent for 3 years about wanting to be a girl. He plays as female characters in games, pretends to be female characters from movies, and often times wears pants on his head as his girl hair, and a shirt around his waste as a skirt. In addition, he talks about how his "bumps" (breasts) are growing,...like a girl's.

It is very interesting in a way. My wife has a very negative opinion about me and TG. I never cross dress around the family, so this behaviour of his is completely original. I think she realizes that to reject me as TG, is to reject her son as well.

I am careful not to influence him either way, but allow him to be himself.

There are a couple of trains of thought when it comes to kids. Some think they will outgrow it, some think they will simply be gay, while others believe they will eventually transition.

I believe they should be allowed enough freedom to be happy, and yet kept safe.

MelodyPerkins:
As Donna T indicated, safety is the most important parental obligation that you have.
Protect that child and be sure to get what ever assistance you need in raising her.
