A Late Beginning

My first experience with wearing feminine clothing was at age 59.

I went to a party dressed as Charley's Aunt.

It consisted of a beautiful 115" hoop skirt with a very lace filled hooped petticoat, yellow laced pantellettes, a wig with curls, a bonnet , a string purse, earrings and light makeup.

Since that time I have been developing more female characters in my costume inventory namely a Southern belle, a mideiviel Duchess, Martha Stewart, a Grande Aunte and Mrs. Bates.

I have also become an expert impersonator of elderly ladies.

Most of the dressing I do is for costume events, but the desire to dress as a lady has just about taken over my gentlemen characters.

Will post pictures when I am eligible.

Just wanted to share with you.

Martha,

Welcome from another who enjoys "dressing to extremes" as the case may be. I think you'll love everyone here, they're a great bunch.

Yes I love to wear historical clothing especially hoop skirts!

I am basically a costume character creator and since wearing my first dress to a costume party have really enjoyed doing so.

I enjoy doing the female characters more than male now!

I would love to have a hoop skirt dress; I bet it feels good everywhere you
are wearing it.

I always love wearing my hoop skirts.

Have learned how to get around in them and how to properly sit and go up and down stairs.

Once that was accomplished, they are pure enjoyment to wear.

Thanks Maratha. I would love to dress in periodic dress however it is only a dream at this time. I can only hope for a time in the future.
