My beginnings: A short story

I started at the age of 9, doing the usual thing of trying on sisters and mothers dresses, shoes, bra's, underwear and lingerie. At 12 was force dressed for a photo for a Television program that had a competition on regarding embarrassing moments. It didn't work as I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The photo never got sent in (Mum still has it, gotta get a copy from her).

Started purchasing my own clothing etc. at 16 when I started working. Kept it well hidden until I had the house to myself, but with 5 siblings it was difficult. When I moved out of home at 18 I started to expand the wardrobe and dressed whenever I could.

Married at 21, and my now ex-wife didn't understand nor cared much for my dressing, however she did make a few garments for me (still have one of the dresses to this very day) but unfortunately divorced at 30, built up wardrobe again.

I am now 33, rebuilding the wardrobe after past purges (dress sense was a little wayward), married now a second time around to a caring, loving and supportive lady, who occasionally knocks off some of my shoes and garments (I don't mind sharing with her at all). And have now been out a couple of times dressed. Just not main stream out yet.

Hi Hayley,

The closest I ever came to being forced to dress was one summer staying at my grandmothers where they rolled my hair. :)

It was fun, but embarassing walking around with curlers. ;)

You're very brave and strong to have started buying things @ sixteen!! :) I let my mom's dresser be my hiding place because she always found EVERYTHING.

Thanks for your beginnings!! That was a very fun read. :)

"Just say NO to purging" ;)
