comforting cross-dressing

I remember when I was about 13 my mother worked at a local school, and some days I was off school when she was working (afternoon off, etc.)
I used to go to her lingerie drawer and try things on. There were girdles, silk knickers, and I especially remember a long floaty pale blue nightgown with a gathered bodice. I would prance around my parents' bedroom posing and looking at myself in the mirror. I was too young to orgasm, but the feeling was wonderful. I would carefully put everything back exactly where I had found it. As far as I know I never got found out.
When I went to uni I searched out men's nylon briefs which were stocked by a few specialist shops.
I didn't cross-dress again until my first marriage broke up when I was 28. When she first walked out she left most of her clothes behind. I was devastated.

I would put on her panties and nightie and cry myself to sleep.
It was a comfort to me then, and is still a comfort to me now, 30 years later. Only difference is I thoroughly enjoy it and it's FUN.

Ginny , WE have something in common, I throughly enjoy it and it's fun for me too.
Funny how putting on a pair of panties can make you feel better. I really enjoyed wearing my wifes panties more than my own panties even though she usually bought them for me. It ws still good mind you but hers were always better for some reason. You sound very comfortable with yourself, that's marvelous. keep similin, keep dressin, keep postin....Kristen

Hi Ginny,
Thanks for sharing with us your beginnings story.
That's awesome. I remember raiding mom's drawer too. Even the thought of any pleasure in them would have freaked me out.
I would wear a girdle every once in a while too, but it was usually leotards and tights underneath and then her dresses, makeup, wigs, etc on top of that.
Thanks for sharing your story with us! It will surely help the lurkers who never join or post, but read. I'm sure one of them (or someone on the board) will go "Wow! Me too!"

Hi Ginny,
Of all the many reasons we may have for CDing, dressing just for comfort is definitely one of the best. And when you feel comfortable you also feel safe.

Hi Ginny

, I still remember the days of raiding my mothers cloths and getting dressed up wow a long time ago. I am retired now and dress all the time with a very supportive wife who just lets me be me

. But the truth of the matter is I am more comfordable dressed as a women then a man

Yep don't make sence but it's the truth, I prefur to wear a skirt over pants.

Like many of you all, I dress because it makes me feel comfortable but I also like to dress up to look cute(I feel better about myself when I am dressed). Pleated skirt and that sort of thing. I also love corsets and poofy.
