How I got started

Hello girls. I'm Jeanette (you can call me Jeannie) and this is my first time posting. I grew up with my two aunts, mother and sister. My father was always working very hard in his small business to provide for us and was a wonderful kind, gentle man.
I remember watching my aunts and mom dressing for work and always loved how soft and pretty they could make themselves look. I thought that was just great. My sister and her girl friends used to dress me up like a little girl starting when I was eight and I just loved it. I still have pictures of me when I was a small boy dressed up and wearing my moms high heels and bathing suit.I loved the look and feel of her stockings and had so much fun until the fourth grade.
My teacher had show and tell one day and I brought in a Ginny Doll and boy was I crucified. I had no idea that a young boy could not like the same things girls like. Ever since the age eleven I was forced to go underground and live, as most of you know, a life of quiet desperation. No self confidence, sexual identity issues and sometimes self loathing. I spent most of my life keeping it from the people I love most. My Mother, Father, sister, wife and children. Now, at age 55 my Mom and Dad have both passed on, my children are away at college and my wife of 25 years really does not have much feeling for me anymore so I came out to her a few months ago. Not a good move to say the least, but after all of these years of keeping it bottled up inside I feel great like I felt when I was little boy.
I've read numerous books on the subject of crossing dressing, tranvestites, gender identity disorder and transsexuals trying to find out where I am in the big scheme of things. But a woman friend of mine gave me a video of the actor and comic Eddie Izzard who happens also to be a crossdresser and in his stand-up routine said" I'm a heterosexual man,but a lesbian (in my case submissive)woman" This described me perfectly.
Walking down the street men would see a gorgeous, perfectly dressed woman and say"Boy! I would love to ---- her". I on the other hand I would say"Boy! I would love to know where she bought those pumps!". Who is the terrible person?
As a man I could go to a football game, get drunk, be obnoxious, get into a fight, tell dirty jokes to a woman at work, spit on the sidewalk and pee in the bushes and that would be considered acceptable behavior for a male. But let me walk into a shoe store and try on a pair of size 9 1/2 mules(Ijust love them!) both men and women would look on with digust, horror or shock. What's wrong with this picture.
Most people like us and the general population are not child molesters, rapists, murderers or wife beaters. For the most part we are responsible people. All we want to do is dress and feel like a women and go about our day without judgement or condemnation. Why are we demonized in this culture?
If any of you ladies feel like me I would love to hear what you have to say . Gotta run now. In my stocking that is!(By the way, Silkies, which can be found on the internet are a great brand pantyhose. Very comforable and durable!) Love you all and wish everyone a peaceful, comfortable life. Isn't that all we really want? Isn't that what we deserve?
Love
