Maybe a silly question - is there some "rule" about wearing a top tucked in (to a skirt or pants) vs. out? Because of my body shape, some tops seem to look better on me not tucked in, but in other cases tucked in seems better. Is there a tip-off to recognizing when a top "should" be in or out, or is this a matter of taste or style?

No Danielle, there is no rule. I have some tops I wear tucked in with certain outfits and out with others. It is a matter of taste, comfort, personal preference, and of course the style of top as some are not meant to be tucked in and vice versa. Many women wear their tops untucked as it hides the tummy and hips better but whatever you think looks best on you is right.

I'm the opposite, most of my blouses are left untucked as it hides my tummy and moves my waist line up
As a rule , today on TV that was addressed on a program and there is no rule against it or for it. They said it depends on the shape of your body and what you are hiding or points to show off. Lady in question had large thighs and she tucked, making her thighs look larger. hope this helps
