Strapless Bras

Post by Kim D. »

I have 2 sets of breastforms, both glue on style, 38C and 38DD. I like wearing sundresses which of course dictates I wear a strapless bra. The 38C's are bad enough but I have bought 3 different 38DD strapless bras and they all seem to slide down in time :( . Any suggestions as to what type and brand to buy for this chesty gurl?

I am not a GG however I have been FT for almost 9 years now and am a full 36C, all hormones no enhancement, so I feel somewhat qualified to try to take this one on. I find most strapless bras that are not a longline style have a tendency to slide down over time. Some are worse than others, I find Lilyette seems to stay up the best however an evening of dancing will mean several trips to the powder room for the yank! I have a VaBien longline strapless I bought to wear under a specific dress and it stays up quite well however it can get uncomfortabel and hot over a long period of time wearing it. It even came with garters which my BF found quite sexy. :) Sometimes a little discomfort can be worthwhile!

As a GG my answer is very simple (but probably not very helpful). With strapless dresses I just tend not to wear a bra because they do seem to just slide down no matter what. You can get those cups you glue on, no? Also, I find most of you gals like going real big on the bra sizes- maybe you could get some smaller forms to wear with strapless dresses that might be more comfortable?

Note that some bras come with, or can be converted to use, clear straps.

That's true, but they are also prone to slidding off in my opinion.

Delores in response o your comment yes most of us generally go large on top, my late wife was a 40DD and I have been wearing a 38DD lately. I do have some 38C forms, I would think aything smaller on my size frame would look silly, and even with those glued on strapless bras slide down, guess I am going to have to try Deidre's suggestion of alongline strapless bra. Wonder if Macy's or Kohl's carry anything like that or do I have to go to a specality lingerie store?

I woldn't know about Kohl's having anything like the VaBien, Macy's maybe. I got mine at a specialty lingerie shop. It was not inexpensive and it takes someto get used but once you do it is not bad to wear except in the hottest of weather. One nice thing about the one I got is it came with garter straps, well you get my drift!

Watching Gok the other day he stressed how with strapless, or sleeveless tops shoulders look wider, so maybe for many of s straps or little cap sleeves are not such a bad idea.

Good luck Kim finding a strapless bra that doesn't want to become a belt! I am a 36A and I find even those want to slide down. I know one GG once told me to try a strapless bra a band size smaller and a cup size larger and it would stay in place. Sounded uncomfortable to me so I never did. :( Anyone ever heard or tried this?

Hi

I have a couple of strapless Marks and Spencers bras which are a little plain for my liking but have the silicon edging on the cups and band and seem to do a pretty good job. I tend to wear a fairly tight band though (snug I would say). Perhaps this is the reason that they seem absolutely fine for me. I wear them au nautrel (I don't use forms and I am only an A cup) so that would help considerably in the bra staying up. I have even gone jogging in it and it stayed up fine :)
