Do you worry about "the gap"?

Some of my snugger-fitting button-down blouses show the dreaded "gap" where stretch of the fabric over my bust pulls the fabric back, allowing a side-peeker to see at least the color of my bra. Is this considered a fashion faux pas, or just a delightful fact of life? :?

I, myself, usually try to keep this from happening. But I think it just depends on the person. If it doesn't bother you, than I wouldn't worry too much about it. It also depends on how big the gap is. I've seen women wearing button down shirts with gaps, so I don't think it's a bad thing.

I personally don't like it. I think it looks trashy and takes away from the smart look of a shirt. I have quite large breasts and a smaller waist, so if a shirt fits me at the waist, it's pretty safe to say I will get "the gap" at the breasts. I take a very fine safety pin and neatly pin between the offending buttons vertically on the inside of the shirt and it takes care of the problem

If it bothers you, you can buy sizes to fit your bust and take in or have tailored the waistline of the top or dress. Choosing different styles can also be an alternative. As long as clothing is mass produced for "averages" in sizes, then you will find problems in fit. That is espcially so for men wearing women proportioned clothing. There is little choice other than making your body fit the clothes, or modifying the clothes to fit the body.

Ugh..I have one or two shirts I love that have been doing this. I don't care much, I usually just safety pin it as has already been mentioned. If you don't love the shirt, don't bother wearing it. I think it calls too much attention and not in a sexy way. I end up checking the whole day to see if the pin looks right and fidgeting with it...but this seems to happen with everything that fits me. I have trouble finding clothes to fit well sometimes because of my proportions. :?
