How are full slips sized??

Post by Anne Bonny »

They give like size 32,34,38... how does this relate to me? Are they sized by bust size, or by waste size, or hip size?

Quick question: How are full slips sized?

Post by Anne Bonny »

I am treating myself to some new lingerie and have never had a slip of my very own. When I go online to order I missed out on something women learn growing up which is how slips are sized - I get sizes like 33,34,36...40,44 and nothing explains if this is bust, waste or hip size?? Help.

Thank you very much, that would be 42 on myself perhaps 45 with breasts - thank you so much. I am treating myself to new lingerie because I need some ice cream and my psychologist told me to have fun....Anne

it's the length. Your slip should be a few inches shorter than the dress you're wearing it with. As far as dimensions around the chest, I think it just goes with SML. So whatever size cami you wear, get the same size slip and then select the length according to your dress. I would of course suggest several different lengths, in each of white and black. You didn't really think you could get away with just one or two slips, did you??

Many slips go by bust side. Put on a good fitting bra and take a tape measure and go around your fullest part of your bust. If in between sizes go up to the next one. Most sites have a fitting guide on the page.

Enjoy. National has some nice ones on their site.

Ralitsa! I think you are being a bit restrictive limiting poor Anne to just Black and white, I know monotones are "in" this year but there is always room for Red, and pink, or blue, and maybe a nice cream or................

Hi, Anne -

I have merged your two identical topics into one and I am keeping it here in the Dear GG section; you had started the two topics within an hour of each other, in two different sections . . . and the Fun Stuff ... section was not the proper place for it.

well I didn't mean to be restricting, I was suggesting that as a STARTING point

Then after one has 6 or 8 of the basic ones, she can expand into the more exciting styles :)

Well it arrived and hung on me like a tent so I called and spoke with a lady at customer service and we dicided that 40 might be better, the length is below the knee but I have a top and a skirt that fall below the knee but nothing slender. I am working on my weight again. Hum...that is the best thing about no clothing restrictions, femenine clothing gives us an infinite variety of colors and styles to enjoy and they are all so much fun to wear!
