Black pantyhose

Hi all,
I have two quick questions about black pantyhose. Do they only go with black skirts or dresses or is there any color skirts or dresses (or even blouses?) that can be worn with them? Also, do they clash with any other colored shoes besides black? Usually I wear tan, nude or beige pantyhose but would like to try black (or off black) but don't want to committ a fashion crime. I'll appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Hi, Steffie
Hmm, not sure if I can help you with this one, Steffie, but this thread might be of help:

Personally, I prefer the suntan and nude colors for year-round wear, and when I lived in the colder climate (MI) I would occasionally wear the coffee or taupe colors (by L'Eggs) in the fall and winter, depending on the color of my dress or skirt. Occasionally I've worn off-black pantyhose with a short black dress with black pumps (closed toe). As I'm only 5'3" the off-black hose tends to make me look even shorter no matter how high the heel.
Pick up some inexpensive pantyhose - on sale or at a Goodwill store, for example. Experiment and see what looks good with your various outfits, and this way you're not spending a lot of money on hose you might never wear again.
As for the Fashion Police - I've never paid much attention to them, because no two people are created the same. What doesn't look good on one person may look terrific on someone else.

Personally, I don't wear black hose with any color shoes but black and usually only with a black skirt or dress. It's a matter of preference... I just think the black with black look just looks more sophisticated. I'm also 5'3" and feel that the monochromatic black dress and hose with heels adds the illusion of a little height, which you may or not need.
I agree with SilverLady in that you should get some inexpensive pantyhose and experiment with your outfits. It's all about what you're comfortable with.
You might also try fishnets--they are a bit more "casual" and fun than straight-up L'eggs. There's a place around here called Body Basics that sells 'em pretty cheap. I wouldn't shell out the $$$ for Freddies or Vicki's unless you're sure you like the pattern/look.
Have fun!

Black is a great color for most everything. It goes well with black but also gold, blue, maroon and especially red. There is no need to only wear them with only black shoes. Do what you love and love what you do Hun. As for the fashion police. When they knock at my door I always say"You're never going to take me alive copper!" In my Picture Gallery I have on black hose with gold sparkles with a gold gown and black hose with a read skirt with my skinny legs and that doesn't look that bad. I'm only 5'5" and as long as my legs reach the ground I'm OK! Misty gray is a killer color from Silkies.com. If you are more into the male mode check out Activeskin or comfilon on the web. They have pantyhose for men with a special front panel. No need to pull down at the urinal. It's a pisser!

PS. The last time I had black pantyhose on my head and went into a convienence store they thought it was a holdup. Stick with the nued Hun! Trust me.

Hay girl,
I have a preference for black stockings but not a dark black, and off black or a smoke gray works really well. I will admit that black stocking does drew looks from both sexes kinda sexly. I think black works really well in the evening and going out, but remember I will be looking

Off blacks and gray's do look nice.

Hey Carol Ann. I found the picture of Jeannie and her friend Heidi Heidelberg! This is what happens when you stay up too late on the chat and try to run a printing press early next morning. OUCH!

You get to see me drab. Well. Almost! It's in my picture gallery but I think only printers will understand! Have a great day.Hugs

Personally I think black hose looks best with black shoes or black and white spectator pumps. I wear black a lot at times then I may go months without wearing them, just seems to be my whims. I agree that by varying the color of your hose you can create a whole new look. Generally itis suntan for me then followed by black but I also wear coffee and taupe. I have tried the off blacks and to me they are too grey.
