I invite GGs to tell me about the times they have gotten stuck in a dress. I start it off with this story I copied from a GG's blog:
I was about 30 minutes early for dinner reservations yesterday, so instead of drinking at the bar alone, I walked into this cute little girly shop called Purdy Girl. I normally avoid little shops because I can't stand when snobby sales people follow you around and you can't even enjoy browsing - but I had time to kill so I stayed. Great accessories, fun skirts, cute dresses and the prices were not bad at all.
I tried on a pair of sandals and a skirt (both on sale). The shoes were perfect and so was the skirt, but there was something up with the zipper. I tried to zip it up, but it stopped halfway. After trying a few more times, I decided that even though it was on sale, I didn?t want to struggle with it at home so I tried to take it off. TRIED being the operative word here. (you know where this is going) After almost breaking a sweat, I called over a sales associate. She tried, but couldn't get the zipper down, a friend of mine showed up and tried to help as well - no luck, then we called over another sales associate? he couldn't get the zipper down either.
After 4 people trying for 15 minutes to get me out of a skirt and only 5 minutes before I had to be next door for dinner, they decided to get a pair of scissors and just cut me out of it. THAT was a first for me. Would I go back to that store - absolutely. Everyone was really nice about it (no snobs there), we all had a good laugh and I still bought the shoes.
Purdy Girl is located at 220 Thompson Street and at 540 LaGuardia place. Their site isn't ready yet, but it's coming

And I also copy a comment to this story:
I feel your pain:
Back when I was a poor NYUer, I once got so stuck in a dress at the Goodwill on 23rd St that a big security guard guy had to break the zipper with pliers. He was way more embarrassed about it than I was, and afterwards, he asked me if I still wanted the dress. Um...NO.
And a few years ago, on a lunch break from work, I got stuck in a pink vinyl tube dress at the H&M in Herald Square. (Getting stuck in vinyl is BAD, because if you start sweating it makes things even worse.) That one I eventually managed to wriggle out of without calling for help.

Going solo in dressing rooms for professionals only!
Hey Aileen.
Sounds like you need a dresser like the movie stars Hon. It will take the pressure off! Never try something on without one! Hugs.
Love

I'll be the first
Your stories are too funny!
I gave birth to our son, in April had a wedding July, being a new mom and a person who hates shopping (yes, I do) I picked a dress off the rack, that I THOUGHT I'd fit back into, Well, I didn't take into account after birth, I was much heavier, silly me, I thought I was the same size! HA, NOT.... Pulled this dress over my head (zipper in back) Ripped a couple stitches in the armpit in the attempt, to try it on when I got the dress home (hate trying stuff on in stores). Low and behold I got it on..... Now I'm thinking well we gotta take it off! So I start from the knees and pull UP around my head..... Well it got horribly stuck at my shoulders and around my head! Then my infant starts crying. I tore the dress to shreds! I do remember my underarms being quite sore from the fabric rubbing! Thanks for the short trip down memory lane! HA,,,,,,, Sorry to say but lost quite a bit a weight since then (infant is now almost 4) Wish I had that DARN dress! hahahahahha

I was thinking
Aileen. I was thinking about your dressing room disaster. Remember vinyl is made for the siding on your house not a dress. Stick with the rubber. It's a good look. You'll get lots of compliments. I'm lucky because I'm small. I just buy a radiator hose. Ten bucks and I'm out the door.Hugs
