Sorry that this is such short notice, but on Sunday 28th April the LGSO
http://www.lgso.org.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; will be playing a concert at St Sepulchres Church on Holborn. I will playing and making sure that the orchestra really does serve the whole of the LGBT community in London, we will be playing Mahler 1, Elgar's In the South and Glazunov Saxophone Concerto.
This should be a great concert so if you can please come along and support us.

Sound like fun, although I'm not a big fan a Mahler myself. Although some musician friends of mine say that it's great fun to play him, I have a hard time finding the structure in it.
I would come and hear it, but it is a little short notice to get to London from Montana and back to work by Monday
You will be wearing your little black dress for it again, I hope!

Hi Paula--
Have fun, and let us know what differences you notice playing as Paula now.
I finally got rid of my college textbook on music appreciation (I was doing a minor in music for the last part of my college career), but the author wrote (in 1966), that Mahler was seldom played because his symphonies were long, drawn-out affairs. Our local radio station does play selected movements from at least one of his symphonies--the station's format is very popular in this area. It took me a while to get used to hearing only snippets of longer works, but it's a formula that keeps classical music stations alive, so I support it.

I saw you, back near the drums and trombones in the Feb. concert?
BTW, that's the top or first video on your blog, the second one is from April. Looks like you were tucked behind a marble column for this one.
