Zip me up...

Post by Lily »

Okay, I'm having a time zipping up my dresses. My SO doesn't feel comfortable doing it for me so I'm out to find a way to zip up my own dresses. I am on the verge using an idea I used to zip up my body glove when I used to serf.

Is there anything out there that has all ready been made to help with this. lol

Dental floss works just like you used to zip up the Body Glove. Use a length looped through the zipper and remove it when finished or tuck it inside the dress.

I wear the bras and panties so she doesn't have to.

Lily,
Beginners trick, open a large paper clip bend one end into a fish hook and the other end into a loop. Tie a string to the loop about 3 foot long. hook the other end on the zipper and just pull it up. Learned that trick when I was 14 :P

That's something like I was thinking of. I ware a lot of lace though and I was afraid of catching on it. I'll have to give it a try though.

Be careful when you zip that you can unzip again later.

And you can use the same trick to UNZIP your dress. Unzipping a dress can be as much as a problem as zipping it up. LOL

I've limited myself to dresses that I can fit into with the zipper up already. The idea of being dependent on paper clips or the kindness of SOs or strangers just doesn't work for me.

I just found a par of Suspender with a clip that is so tight that I can clip it on the zipper and pull it up my back. It's not easy, but so far it has worked okay.

Zipping up

Post by PhylissH »

I guess I am just luky, I am still flexible enough that zipping or unzipping my dress is not a problem.
However the thought of being stuck in an outfit and being totally at the mercy of some one to help me get out of it sounds terribly fun. :)

Hi girls,

They are somewhat difficult to find now, but wire hangers work great for zipping up or down. However, like Anita, I only wear dresses that I can slip on already zipped.

Love always,
Elizabeth
