My time in San Francisco, as Steffie every second! :)

Post by Steffie »

Hi girls,

Well I went to San Francisco this past weekend and had a great time. :) For this trip, unlike the others in the past though, I brought NO male clothes. So I was a woman from the time my flight took off from Carolina to the time I got back. This was the longest consecutive time that I was a girl (88 consecutive hours).

Day 1
For my flight to San Francisco, I wore a black skirt, white top and a white jacket with a red belt to add a little color. I paired this with black peep toe pumps and pantyhose. As usual, the flight enfemme was uneventful. There was one minor thing though. When we were all boarding the flight, the guy taking the boarding passes would great each person and say their name (i.e. Hello Mr. Jones or Hi Ms. Jackson). Well I didn't want him to do that to me (reading off my male real name). So when he got to me I just smiled and said: "Today I'm Miss Steffie." He then smiled and let me pass without saying my male name. :)

After the flight landed, I took the shuttle to my hotel, checked in and changed into another outfit before going out. I wore a teal blue top/sweater paired with a cute gray skirt. Since it was a bit chilly, I wore my pink jacket. I walked to and around Little Italy SF for a while and had some gnocchis at a restaurant.

After walking briefly to Fisherman's Warf, I then met one of my online friends, Anita, from one of the forums. She took me to Berkley for a TG support group meeting. For the meeting I wore gray slacks, a blue top layered with a red striped hoodie and black flats. All the girls I met there were very nice. At the end of the evening we all had dinner at a nearby restaurant. Anita then took me back to my hotel.

Day 2
The next day I explored SF some more. I wore a pink top with a blue three quarter top layered over that along with ladies jeans and sneakers. To guard against the wind (which can get strong in SF and make it cold), I wore my pink Phillies cap which helped keep my hair in place. I walked to Fisherman's Warf again, walked the beach and then walked toward Golden Gate Park. I had lunch on the way at a Japanese restaurant. At the park, I saw a lot of pretty flowers, birds, animals and plants. I was also near the Conservatory of Flowers as well as the museum there. After this I then took a trolley to Union Square and browsed a lot of the stores there. At Macy's I bought some more makeup. The sales lady at Este Lauder was very nice to me and even complimented me on how I wore my makeup. :)

After this I then went to Chinatown where I had dinner.and then got to ride a cable car as it took me back to my hotel (it was late at night by this time). It was quite windy and cold during the day but my cap held my wig in place.

Day 3
The next day I wore some gray slacks, black flats and a blue top paired with a pink sweater. I walked the Embarcadero, saw the Giant's baseball park (AT&T Park), went back toward Fisherman's Warf, took a short boat cruise (where I got close to Golden Gate bridge and Alcatraz which gave me a lot of good photos and video) whereupon my wig did NOT blow off. lol It wasn't as cold and windy as it could have been. I then had dinner at a restaurant in Fisherman's Warf and grabbed a bus back toward my hotel. On the way back there I met a couple of girls that were visiting from Las Vegas; they asked what places to see and I told them places I went to. They wanted to take their own picture with me; so I obliged. They also took a picture with me too. They were nice.

Day 4
After getting back to my hotel I packed, got up early the next day and flew back to Carolina en-femme, wearing a pink top layered with a light green three quarter sleeve, knitted slacks and black flats. During the flight, I asked the flight attendant if she would take a picture and video of me while on the plane and she was gracious enough to oblige.

Well that's a summary of my trip. I had a great time. :) Thanks for reading. Pics and videos are below.

Hi Steffie--
I'm glad you had a good time. It takes some courage to show up with no back-up, no reserves. You've done well!

Hi Steffie,
Wow good for you and good for Anita being there to take you around.
Last time I was in S.F. was in 1959 before I shipped out, and like you I enjoyed Fisherman Warf, the cable car. But will admit going down hill I wasn't sure the thing would hold onto the underground cable.

Biggest thing I remember was how clean the city was hope it is to this day.
Another good thing about your trip you had a loving sister there to meet you, we are family one and all ((G))

That sounds like a blast, Stef.

One thing I particularly applaud you for is flying en'femme. Nowadays, what with airport security being on edge and ready to pop people right there at the x-ray machine for carrying too much chewing gum onto commercial airline flights, I'd be scared out of my mind to go through airport security en'femme. God, knowing my luck, I'd get me a one way ticket to some homeland security hole in the ground prison for having a jumbotron sized container of Dermablend or something with me, and the security lackey at the gate thinking it's some kind of plastic explosive...

You are an inspiration. I hope to have that type of vacation someday. Too bad that we are such solitary creatures. It would be even more fun to experience SF with some gurl friends!

I also thought the baseball cap was a great idea. I frequently sturggle with my hiar flying around and getting in my fact. I have not learned which of the million hair devices I should buy to hod my hair in place. That judgement is half functional and half style.

Good for you Stef. Sounds, and looks like you had a blast. I wish I was aware you were going to 'Frisco, as I would have recommended a wonderful restaurant to you, known as The House of Prime Rib. Provided you are a carnivore, it is a wonderful place to have fine prime rib (of course) with three sizes of cuts, a Daddy bear (3/4 inch), mamma bear (1/2 inch)and baby bear (about 1'4 inch), or at least that was what they were called when I was last there. They bring it all to you table and you tell them what you want, and they slice it. It also has other food, fantastic salad, and good sides. The cable car system goes right by it, at the edge of China Town.

I also enjoyed Fishman's Wharf, and had several nice "picnics" picking up shrimp and crab and scalops, sauces and a loaf of French bread with butter, and plenty of MaiTais, and then eat in the open area, keeping the seagulls away from little swoops on my food with the judicious use of a few maitai soaked pieces of French bread!!

Really glad you enjoyed yourself.
