first shopping trip (slightly long winded)

Post by Lara R »

so i went lingerie shopping for the first time today (well, i dont count the time i drove 2 hours to a walmart, and bought a playtex cross your heart bra in a box) everything else i've had has either been hand me down or bought online.

i went to a place today called Irene's Lingerie in Plainville, CT. I reccomend it to anyone in New England. totally worth the trip. I was made to feel at home, and treated like a king (queen?) anyway, i was taken to a fitting room and measured for a bra. i filled a 40b! and a 40c in the black lace wacoal bra i tried on (but didnt get, maybe next time it was a little pricey). i must have tried on 10 different bras, a couple slips, and some shapers, and some forms. i ended up buying 3 bras (i'm wearing a pink bali underwire now) and 3 pairs of panties (wearing black maidenform boy shorts with lace trim).

i've been putting off this shopping trip for years, and was nervous all week, but its probably been one of the most positive things i've done, just a reassuring thing of overcoming the fear of being found out. I'll definately go back there in the future. she is very cd friendly (while i was trying stuff on, another cd came in, and she said alot of men come in)

so anyway, thats my story, and here i am posting on crossdressers forum!

as an aside.... can anyone reccomend a cd-friendly victorias secret anywhere in the northeast or nyc? i know i probably won't find any bras in my size, but they have cute panties.. the one in my town is a no-go because i know a bunch of mall employees.

thanks!!! and happy to be here

Congratulations on your first fitting. =D>

As for VS, you should be able to go to any of them. I've not heard anything bad happening from many others that have been there.

Nice to hear about Irene's. I'll have to remember them. I had a similar experience at Zoe and Co in Westerly R.I. They said the same thing about many of their customers are men. We had a long pleasant conversation about many things, CDing being one of them and the rest being about unrelated stuff.

Expensive though....

First "NEW"Blouse

Post by Debra Russell »

Nice reading about others shopping! I recently bought my first new blouse. I saw it while shopping with my wife - at Bi-Mart or all places. A cute short sleeved v neck with a higher cut dickie across the v. My wife liked it too but we dident buy anything. I was planning to go "out" that weekend when my wife was at work and wanted something new to wear so I went back the next day, tried it on and bought it. It looked great on me.
That Saturday I dressed and went to the zoo, I had a good time and took pictures. That night I showed my wife a picture of my self in the new blouse, she was suprised that I had gone back and bought it. She went and bought one (with a little encourgement) just like it the next day - after I assured her we wouldent be wearing them out at the same time.
Hope you're having Fun: Debbie[/url]

Lara I have found all VS stores to be friendly. Actually a VS was the first store I tried a bra on in male mode. It was the SA that asked if i wanted to try it on. All I could do was stammer out a yes, but she had already told me to follow her to the fitting rooms. I knew the store was busy but was not even thinking about the fitting rooms until she walks me into the busy fitting room and opens one up for me. I was going nuts on the inside but the other GG's did not seem to notice. I had to take a minute once in the room to calm myself before I began to try it on. Before I could try it on she was back checking to she how it was going and if I needed a different size. Could hear the chatter of the other GG's in the fitting rooms. One of the two she gave me to try on fit me. Coming out all the GG's were in fitting rooms and the SA met me as I came out. Told her which on fit me and she asked if I needed anything else. I said that would be all and head up to pay. As I exited the back a guy from across the store seen me and instantly had that "what the" dumb founded look on his face and started to talk with the gal he was with. She did not seem to care. I just took my purchase up to pay and ended up having to wait in line like 4 back as it was that busy in there. No one said a word me standing there with a bra waiting to pay. And several GG's said hi. I glanced back after in line a while and the guy was still looking at me with the dumb founded look. Guess maybe he was jealous?

Hint, go in during a less busy time it may make it easier for you. I went in just to look and ended up trying on a bra and buying one. They will fit you also.

Oh also if it helps when the first SA asked if I need help I said yes. I told her I was looking for a bra that could give me some cleavage. Said I did not have much to work with. She became a SA on a mission. When I hesitated on fit is when she asked if I needed to try it on, but did not wait for an answer but said to follow her.

I must have a "CDer" sign on my forehead. As one other time I went in to see a new bra I had received an email about. I said that to the first SA that asked if I needed help that was why I was there. I must have looked like easy prey. She gave me the whole sales pitch on how great this new bra was and how it was different from the other bras. When she got done with the pitch she looked at me and asked; So will you be trying one on tonight. I had to look at myself to verify I was truly in male mode, and I was. Another bra tried on and another one taken home. Do we see a pattern here.

Hope that helps. Relax and enjoy.

P.S. I have VS bras in sizes 40, 38, and 36. I love their IPEX line and they are very stretchy. The 36 is snug but gives me great cleavage. Any yes they are spendy so go during a sale to save some money.

P.S.S. I like the Wacoal brand bras also. They are great bras with lots of support. I actually have over half a dozen Wacoal bras in several styles. And these are very spendy. I was lucky to get mine as hand me downs or at second hand stores.

Irene's Lingerie in Plainville, CT

Post by Mimi »

i also tried on a lot of all-in-one girdles and regular girdles, corsets, bras and dresses at Irene's Lingerie in CT. i went there in male mode, but with panties, a garter belt and stockings on under my male clothes, i even brought a pair of high heels into the store in a bag. They were very helpful, and wanted me come out of the dressing room in my heels and stockings to model the lingerie in the store's 3 way mirror. The SA even recommended a few dresses for me to try on, which i also did and modeled them in the store. i bought some long-line bras, girdles and a dress and i left wearing one of the new girdles.

Their website even states that they are TG/TV/TS/CD Friendly.
