What a good thread! Pantyhose got me started, and kept me when trying to stop. I've tried many brands, but keep coming back to Legg's Sheer Energy. My favorite colors are jet black and suntan. I also really like Silken Mist by Legg's too. I like buff color in that style. I usually buy at Target, but check CVS often because they have many 'buy one pair get a second pair free' deals.

Beauty,
I'm glad I brought another source of girly things to your attention!
I admit that I'm cheap and so far have bought Hanes SR sandalfoot, and National stockings, but some of Stcking HQs colors, seamed, and fishnets really appeal to me. The website also has a forum and it's worth at least a glance. The only thing there is they are anti-pantyhose.
This bleached blonde is a garter girl, but I'm in my 50s and go for a 50's - early 60's look most of the time. Pantyhose are virtually a million times easier to find in stores. I have nothing against pantyhose, even once in a while wear it as an under layer when it's really cold in the computer room. I just have a different hosiery preference.
Please let us know if you order and post the details.

Great thread
I also am a garter girl and love real stockings, full fashioned, rht, vintage and vintage styles. I have a fair collection going with over a hundred pair and counting. E-bay is also great for collectors and to find wonderful goodies to wear every day. I am recommending a few more sites.
secretsinlace.com
caroline-b.com
stockinghq.com
kathysnostalgiabilia.com
All of these have amazing selections of stockings, pantyhose, garter belts, bras, panties, girdles and on and on. Kathy's even has bullet bras!!
I have purchased from them all and Secretsinlace and Kathy's are my favorite as they are in the US, have good prices and quick delivery. The others are also very good but take a little longer.
Enjoy shopping and love to you all!

Has anyone on this forum simply cut off the legs from pantyhose to get stockings?
I thought I read about this a while back on CDDF. It would seem to be worth a try. My wife usually only wears pantyhose when dresses up for church, but she does get visible runs eventually so I could try cutting the legs off the discards to see if they would make decent gartered stockings. If I could do it all right and got practiced enough to get it right every time, then every retail store pantyhose rack might have potential stockings for Jadeanne to sink her garters into. Greater selection and get them on sale - what a concept (from a bleached blonde
)
Excuse me while I take off my shoes and empty the peroxide

Beauty,
You are probably correct about the cut off legs from pantyhose running, probably lasting ony a couple of wearings.
Ricci,
I visited Kathy's website and I think on there was also a suggestion to cut the legs off their pantyhose if desired. The stockings were a bit out of my price range. My impression on most of the garter belts and girdles are that they are the same models available for less from National Wholesale http://www.shopnational.com. I love the Crownette open bottom girdles and right now am wearing the Cortland Foundations 6 garter one. The Rago waist cincher garter belt was my first good one and I still wear it regularly. I have had good experiences ordering lingerie, stockings, and some jewelry from them. I live in the US and never thought to check if they do ship to Canada and if there are extra charges.
A little earlier tonight, I did an online order to One Hanes Place. I'm getting a couple of more 3 pair packs of Silk Reflections - travel buff (a lighter shade for warmer weather, never had this color before), and jet black (in a bit over a year and a half my favorite color), a 4 pack of light support pantyhose in nude for my wife (Beauty, as these go bad I will inherit their remains for my experiments), plus 2 long satin nightgowns, one blue, one pink for both of us. When Jadeanne emerged, my loving, supporting wife gave me 3 outgrown short satin nightgowns - they fit me and I loved the feeling. Now Hanes finally had some long ones in my price range so I didn't let the chance slip away.
Just a little note - this bleached blonde doesn't have any business relationship with any of these merchants, I just buy stuff from them.

Hi Jadeanne
I haven't tried the site yet but am looking forward to it. I agree that some of the sites are more expensive. Most have things I can't find elsewhere especially the stockings, but it's great to know a place to get girdles etc. a little cheaper. Thanks so much for the tip!

TammySO,
I'm glad that VS has pretty things in your size. They're too small for my wife and me.
Ricci,
You are a real stocking fan and I don't know if you would like National's stockings, but I really like the Run Resist support stockings and the stretch stockings - reinforced heel & toe, and decent pricing for my cheapskate budget - I don't like the feel of the Non Run ones at all. I posed the style numbers in the initial entry of this thread.
In the past few days I received my One Hanes Place order in 2 separate packages a couple of days apart. The 2 satin gowns were beautiful but too small
. I sent them back for exchange yesterday - for those I'm size XL, not L. The stockings are the right size. My wife wore the new pantyhose to church this morning and liked them. When she needed to dress up for a Sat morning church ladies breakfast, she had to borrow back a pair from me - the package with the new pantyhose arrived in the afternoon.
CDs and GGs, we would like to know what your hosiery preferences are and where/how you but them.
