Well, here it is late again. There's a problem here and I need to get it sorted out. Needless to say, this post won't be excessively long like some of my other posts.
This morning I was faced with a decision. My dream car has been sitting immobile in the garage since the fall. Because the alarm was on the battery went dead and I really needed to get something done. My life has been pretty hectic recently, (it will only get more hectic between now and June 13th,) so my time to get the battery charged/replaced was limited.
Last night I was running around looking for something that would allow me to get into the front compartment where the battery is stored. The locking mechanism is electronic and with a dead battery you can't get in.
I called in to work this morning and asked for the day off. It turned out that the battery in the car was not an OEM battery but rather a battery sold by a local company. I called them and discussed charging/replacing the battery. Initially I thought I would just replace the battery because I didn't want to take any chances. I needed to remove the battery anyway. When I saw how easy it was I decided to just have the battery charged and I will install it tomorrow after work.
That decision left me with some time on my hands... Hmmm... what should I do? I'll go shopping. I went to the factory outlet mall. I know they make some girdles that are designed to lift your bum. I don't think my bum is in extreme need of a lift but it also can't hurt.
Before going any further, I should mention that I have a 'thing' for shoes. I have several pair of Timberland shoes and boots that I rotate through.
I stopped at Famous Brand Footwear to see what they had that I might be interested in, both in the men's and the women's shoes. They had this really awesome pair of suede leather boots with a about a 3" heel. I saw them and I had to check them out. (I also have a thing for suede leather.) So I'm looking for the boots but I can't find them. I went to the other side of the aisle and there they were. There were quite a few pair and they had my size. I wasn't sure how much they cost though.
I went to the men's side of the store where I asked a clerk how the mark downs worked. Whatever the little sticker said is the price. Back to the womens side I went. The sticker was $20.00. I decided to try the boots on so right there in the store I take off my Timberland mules and put on the boots. They fit great. I tried a size up just in case though. I bought them and went happily on my way.
I also bought another pair of shoes at DSW. Now I have four pair of womens shoes. I better be careful... this could be addictive. Is there a 12 step program for a footwear addiction?
I'll write more (if that's possible,) again soon. There are a couple of posts that I have been meaning to post on but I just haven't had the time.
Later,
Brianna

Hi Brianna,
Great story. I was able to relate too!
4 pair and counting, huh?

It took me forever to find the right pair of boots. The boots I wanted were the kind that stopped right below the knee. I LOVE those boots and love wearing skirts that stop right above the knee.
That's one of my favorite looks! Especially on GG's!!!
My first pair of boots were wrong.
They had a heel that I didn't think would make a big difference. It did.
The second pair said knee high, and they didn't have the heel, but the actually kind of went just a little bit high than the mid-calf. The 3rd and 4th pair I purchased at the same time and they were finally what I really wanted.
I got a brown pair and a black pair.
I love them!!!
I hope your battery thingy got resolved!!!
Thanks for starting this thread. It's dear to my clothed heart.

The battery thingy...
Beauty,
It's now early... about 5:25 a.m. I'm getting ready for work. If I make it there by 6:00 a.m. I can get off at 2:30 p.m. That will give me plenty of time to resolve the battery thingy.
The really unfortunate part about this is I had a charger in my car that I was unaware of. Now that I know I don't plan on heading down this road again in the near future... I hope.
The subject line "Boots, boots, boots!" is actually from the show I am in, Gilbert and Sullivan's "Ruddigore." It one of their lesser known works. One of the characters, Mad Margaret, cries out "Boots! Boots, boots, boots, ..." It seemed appropriate so I used it.
I don't know if you have noticed in my posts but I tend to use lines from musicals a lot. It's my favorite entertainment.

The battery thingy... resolved
HI!
I went to Interstate Battery and my battery was fine. After getting it home, I installed it right away. That was painless.
Tonight I think I will drive down to the Factory Outlet Mall again. My friend asked about something and I could stand to look at the other shoes in the Famous Brands Footwear again.
