Local Pastry Shop
The other moring while driving up from Fla, the entire trip en-feme including several stops for shopping at Dress Barns along the way, I stopped in a local Pastry Shop in the suburbs of NYC (I have been going there since I was a child but this was the first time en-feme) where I went in to purchase some items.
When the women behind the counter look somewhat confused as to the mode of dress and the voice.
After placing my order for some nice German Pastry and 2 Black and White cookies there continued to be a perplexed look.
I took the opportunity to say to the nice lady, "My mother always expects pastry when ever I visit and the Black and White cookies are for me.
She smiled and continued to fill the order.
At the completion of filling the order she asked if there were any other items that I wanted.
Responding, no thank you, she told me how much.
With that, I went into my purse for some money and she say's, "I have the same purse. Where did you buy yours and how much did you pay? I told her Dress Barn and her response was I need to go there, I knew that I could get the purse for less money than at Macy's". We both laughed and I picked up my change and purchases and left the store.
While getting into my car, I looked back at the shop and there was the women and 2 others looking out the front door.
I simled and waved to them and they responed in the same way.
Need to go back there again...
There items are very good.

Hi Stephanie,
Sounds like a very positive experience for you. I sense that anyway. I have to say that I just love being out and about, and it's so nice to hear stories from others who are also having positive experiences. While I know it is not for everyone(going out en femme), I know the wonderful feeling of going out without one shred of self conciousness and truly being ones self.
Nice story, thanks for sharing it with us.
Love always,
Elizabeth

Stephanie,
All the way from Florida, en femme! I am jealous!!! I made it from Roanoke to Atlanta driving a little red sports car, but to Florida!? Wow! As to the response you got I think it is like we say, a smile will open a lot of doors for us and that air of confidence on top of it!! Works great!
Love,
Virginia

I think we have a wonderful trend here: Elizabeth at the Taco Bell, my lunchtime experience at Jack in the Box, and you at a pastry shop!Positive interaction with others helps educate them that we aren't (all) weird.
