Melbourne's Midsumma Festival

Post by Jan W »

Am going to the monthly meeting of our TG club, Seahorse, this Saturday. We are to be honoured by having a deportment expert talk to us and explain the best designs/styles to suit our body shapes. She has requested we wear a favourite outfit for an impartial critique. Should be lots of fun.

The next day is the end of the Midsumma Festival which as you girls probably know is a celebration of alternate lifestyles.

My girlfriends are going to spend the day there in a very busy inner Melbourne park and with a little effort on my part I could, too.

Do I dare spend a whole DAY out as Jan? Remember girls this will include eating, drinking and the whole nine yards. IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!

I will let you know what I decided.

Definitely. Especially since you are leaning towards TS, it's days like that that will help you discover your comfort level.

Jan, it's a no-brainer. If you can get out, if you want to go out, then just do it!

If you could have seen me three years ago, I'd probably be hesitant on giving this advice. These days I don't have that fear. Going out en femme is wonderful. When I have the time and the opportunity arises, I'm out there!

Let common sense be your guide. Wear comfortable shoes, and dress appropriate. It's good to see you'll be with others. In unknown territory, it's safer in numbers.

Have a great time. Go forth and be! (Stealing Virginia's line, sorry :P )

Hugs,
Kyra

Jan -

I completely agree with Donna and Kyra - if you have the opportunity to spend the whole day en femme, then you should do so - especially as you are leaning towards the TS end of the continuum. And don't forget to take photos, either!!

If you don't go, or if you don't go en femme, then you will forever be thinking, "I wish I had done (this)...", "if only I had done (that)...." You only live once, so make the best of it, girlfriend!!

Kyra - Virginia doesn't mind you borrowing her line - makes her happy, actually!!

Woman, Go Forth and BE!!!

Love ya!

Last year I went to a National CD Event which was held at a local Hotel. It was my first time out not only in the Daylight, but in a public place among people that were not CDer's. It was also my first time meeting other CDer's. I was very nervious walking up to the Hotel entrenace when a male guest came out, looked at me, and said "Morning Mamm". At first I was a little shocked, then it sunk in what he said and I had a smile on my face the whole day.

Go far it. Enjoy yourself. Have Fun.

Do what your gut tells you to do. If you really want to it is probably as safe an environment as you'll find with any emotional danger coming from within you.

On the other hand if something is telling you not to then don't. Not going en femme may in itself also be a learning experience.

Let us know, and remember that there is perhaps not a right decision simply because right and wrong aren't really factors here.

To keep your options open why don't you bring clothes of both genders. Then you can change your mind if you want. Which they say is a womans perogative although guys are pretty good at it too.
