Catching up and a wonderful weekend

Post by Melyssa Anne »

First of all, sorry I haven't posted in a while. Stormy also sends her apologies. We have been dealing with some difficult family issues (not with each other and not about this :) ) and haven't had a lot of time for much of anything. I haven't hardly had time or opportunity to dress more than two or three times in the last few months.

I have tried to at least read the postings...and welcome to all the new people....I will try and stop by and say hi in the new members area later this week.

So, Stormy suggested a few weeks ago that we get tickets to a new show in town called Hats -- based on the Red Hat Society and make a girsl night out....she has such good ideas sometimes. It was marvelous. We went and got pedicures and manicures that morning, did a little shopping for accessories, bought a new necklace and matching earrings (that I got to wear that night), a coupel new purses / handbags, then went home and got ready. I got to wear my simple little black (sleeveless, just above the knee) dress that I've had for a while (but never worn out) and since it was cool that night a simple red and plack jacket. Also new red shoes (very cool..stormy was jhealous) that I had found the day before. Stormy looked very nice as well in her black slacks, long black flowing jacket and black gold and white blouse.

We went down to the area hoping to get their early enough to shop (lots of shops and boutiques in the area) but no time since traffic was awful. So we got to the resturuant... a delightful italian place...food was to die for... and had a nice time, then went to the theater. Lots of women, mostly late 30s to 60s. We fit right in. Stormy said she was proud of me--I wasn't afraid to talk to the people around us (in my femme voice), and we all talked and laughed and girl talked before and after the play. Never had any doubts that I was blending and just another woman out for the evening!! 8). The play by the way was a hoot!

Side notes -- It was the most confidence dressed I have ever felt--it made a difference in my actions with others. Also, getting in and out of a car in a shorter dress and even sitting in a theater seat was a way different experience -- lots to remember....lol. You ggs out there....you have my respect for making it all look so easy to be that graceful all the time (or at least most of the time!). But I'm getting the hang of it!!!!

Going out shopping Thursday -- and then my next big thing is the Be-all in chicago...and golfing! I can hardly wait. Gotta buy a new top for that!

Melyssa - awesome! I went out enfemme to a movie for the first time just recently. I'd gone out before, but only to a store late at night. This was what I consider my first real outing and I took the suggestions from the girls here. Smile and be confident. I did and it was awesome.

Sounds like you had the same experience. I had to chuckle at the comment you made:
getting in and out of a car in a shorter dress and even sitting in a theater seat was a way different experience
I had the same issues. In the movie theatre I kept wanting to cross my legs in a manly way! A no no... I did briefly, once, but quickly caught myself. I also had a dress on I found at Target that I absolutely love.

I'm happy for you!
Huggs,

Melyssa,
Glad you had a good time! Exuding confidence and smiling works wonders!

SL and I are considering attending the Miss Virginia (no I will not be competing  ) Beauty Pagent, here in Roanoke later this summer. Although I have no problem going out to eat or movie or shopping, but this is a bit different. There will be thousands of people there and they are there to see beauty contestants and they will be "observing" everyone from that mind-set! It will be interesting to say the least!

Love ya,
Virginia

Danette,
Maybe one of those sexy low cut dress with the slit up the side would fit in. Yeah, I believe Virginia would fit right in. :P =D> (--)

Well, I don't think the cute, gray, Abercrombie and Fitch mini skirt that I bought tonight will cut it at the pageant!!!

I think we will go as one of the girl's from the DC area TGEA group has asked us to attend. She evidently goes back-stage and just basically sticks her nose right in the middle of the action. 8)

Hey, I could compete!!!! My sash would read "Crossdressers-Forum" -- how cool!!! Naw! no talent! Well, I could do a 400# bench press - naw, don't think they would allow that in the talent competition, but it would be nice to wear the sash that says "Miss Virginia" on it!!! Then on to the Miss America Pageant. How 'bout that "There she is - Miss America - a crossdresser!" Well, a girl can dream. I would open with, "I would like to thank all my sisters on our forum for making this all possible!" and I would name names!

Ego what ego, I will dream and well, it is late and I am tired and, well, da da dat's all, folks!

Love you all so much!
