Too hot for CD-ing?

Post by Kendra Lynn »

Greetings! The summer heat has now come to the Washington, D.C. area-- could I handle going out in the warm weather "en femme?"
I now have summery outfits-- t-shirts, shorts, light skirts, but in the D.C. area the humidity and heat are a nasty combination no matter what one is wearing (and if you're wearing a wig, and a stuffed bra... hm... well... it can be difficult...)
The short version is I put on the ensemble I'm still wearing (without the short white cordoroy jacket-- wore that to keep the sun off my newly shaven arms-- ah, the life of a CD-- always some new challenge!!) and survived in the 85 or so degree heat for a few hours. Can't say as I'd do it again, though-- which means that from late May through early September CDing opporrtunities can be rare-- I do not drive and cannot escape the heat by jumping into a car and cruising away.
Anyhow, the ensemble: light blue "peace please" baseball style cap, blonde-ish wig (long-ish)-- took that off after arriving home and am now wearing a shorter, darker wig that has some curl-- looks cute with the cap), blue "Rough Guides" t-shirt (unisex-- 1 or 2X), peace sign pendant, size 18 plus "OLD NAVY" women's beige (tan? light brown?) shorts, belt, white socks (NO TIGHTS-- tights are very uncomfortable in warm, humid weather-- but ya gotta do a good job of shaving those legs!), tan ankle high walking boots. Dangly hoop earrings. Round sunglasses (outside; not now).
The socks are "MAGGIE'S brand; purchased at the WHOLE FOODS store in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. These are "organic" socks manufactured in the U.S.A., according to the packaging information.
I went to an outdoor "flea market" in Arlington, Virginia (right near the "Court House" Metro station) and had no unpleasant experiences there.
But on the return trip, I stopped off at a grocery store near my apartment and there was an incident almost as soon as I came outside. Yep, another difficult encounter with members of the general public.
I'll write about that in the "coping" section after I've changed and had some food and drink.
Best wishes to all for the holiday weekend.
Peace'n'luv-- Kendra Lynn.

Hey I have not posted here for awhile, so though it was about time.

I am in a lime green, calf length, wrinkle pleated full aline skirt with slip, a cream top with lacey cap sleeves and lace trim throughout it, bra with forms, a pair of suntan trouser socks and black flats. It was nice to spend the night like this for a change doing some work on the computer and now checking in on the forum.

No femme time for me yesterday (nor today, yet), but I went out shopping Monday evening, and I decided to dress just because. I wore the tan cami I picked up at Torrid last week with a pair of Venezia jeans I found on sale at Rugged Wearhouse last month. The jeans have a floral design beaded onto the left leg near the cuff, and I figured this would look good with the beading on the top of the cami. I wore a convertible Vassarette bra underneath with my homemade forms. I wore my silver bangles and a pair of dangly clip earrings from Claire's, and my brown cork wedges from Torrid completed the outfit. I also brought out with me a wrap from Old Navy, but it was all of 90 degrees out when I left, and it had hardly cooled at all by the time I came home.

Hi all,

Today was a stay at home day, so no boy clothes for me!

Yesterday was Pentecost, and my wife wanted to wear red to church, so she borrowed one of my dresses, bright red ripple knit with a couple of ruffles. She got a lot of compliments.

This morning thru early afternoon was my turn to wear it, and I enjoyed it, with beige RHT stockings, navy blue pumps, matching painted ceramic heart dangly clip earrings and pendant, gold and silvertone wristwatch, midlength curly blonde wig.

Before an afternoon nap, I took off the dress and shoes, then slept for a little while on my back while in my wife's pink full slip, Rago open bottom 6 garter body briefer, and nylons.

After I woke up, I changed to a black, turquoise, and white floral print dress and white half slip, aand changed my jewelry to turquoise beads, earrings, and watch. That's what I'm wearing now.

What are you wearing?

Hi all,

Today was another day of staying in with no boy clothes.

I did some cleaning up and arranging in my maid dress with pink petticoat, 4 garter boned body briefer, etc.

Tonight, I changed into bra with forms, satin panties, animal print long lounger and animal print slippers.

What are you wearing?

Black skirt and floral/fauna babydoll top.

It's getting harder to change into drab and go to work.

With SO's advice, I bought a bright red dress at TJMaxx. I shall upload a photo.

Playing at a dance at the senior center today so old folks guy mode. White shirt, a tie, blue blazer and a matching pony tail tie. Is anyone excited? I didn't think so.....But this is a swing band with a uniform look. The sacrifices we make for art.........Aside from funerals this is the only time I get dressed up like this.

Too wet or hot

Post by Kendra Lynn »

Hello all: In the Washington, D.C. area, we had a series of nasty thunderstorms starting last weekend-- that system actually extended pretty far north-- some sections of PA got badly hit. It's now Friday and that storm has moved away-- the weather was ok today, but I had to stay in and finish up some CD reviews. And according to the Weather Channel web site-- the nasty hot, humid weather returns tomorrow.

Since I do not drive, weather conditions are important. And being cross-dressed while outside in hot and humid or wet weather just doesn't work. (sweating while wearing a wig gets pretty awful). So right now I'm limited to "dressing" in the apartment. (Well, at least I know that MOST of the stuff I ordered from GAP on line fits-- by the way, GAP now has "petite" and "tall" versions of many items-- check the web site or call their 1-800 number.)
So right now, while listening to a new CD by Frank London's Klezmer All Stars, (any other klezmer/Jewish roots music fans out there?)
I'm wearing: long-ish blonde-ish wig, large round glasses with clear frames, white crocheted hair band, hoop earrings, peace sign pendant, pink button tab roll up sleeve shirt (GAP), pleated skirt with darker pink background and white floral design (GAP Outlet). White socks; chunky brown "mary janes." Lipstick. no other make-up. no tights.

Hope the weather gets better in a few days. Haven't been "out" in almost three weeks.

Hope no one was badly affected by the east coast storms.

Enjoy the July 4 holiday!!

Peace'n'luv-- Kendra Lynn.

Today's outfit

Post by Kendra Lynn »

Hello again!
Well, earlier the temperature hit 90 degrees plus and now there's a thunderstorm, so...no "out and about" today.
But.. since I'm just in the apartment, writing e-mail messages and listening to CD's, I can certainly be "dressed" while doing that.
Of course the thrill of being outside isn't there and no photos will be taken, but it's better than nothing... (and I can see how well the "new" items fit and which items go well with each other).
So here we go: Shoulder length strawberry blonde/red? wig with curl at the ends. Short puff sleeve black and white vertical stripe shirt with button front, peace sign pendant, "antique white" full skirt (slightly below knee), white socks, brown maryjane/sandals (no back). hoop earrings., "Concord" lipstick. a little "foundation" over the moustache area. No other make-up. Large round clear glasses. Actually doesn't look too bad even without the full make-up job.
A groovy fourth of July to everyone!!
Peace'n'Luv-- Kendra Lynn

Today I'm away from home and can dress as I like.
I've got a pair of Talbot Side zip stretch pants (size 6) wacoal panties (SO's cast off's) and a maiden form 36B bra, recently I read on this forum about using Rice in the foot of a panties hose or knee high as a beast enhancement . It work great wish I had know about this before. Also have a low pair of platform. With Hanes Thigh high. I think as I get older my desires to dress become more intense. I'm fearful that I'll never experience dressing when I want. I really don't care about going out but wish to wear feminine clothes on a more regular basis.
