Heck, the doctor thought I was going to be a girl. But my parents didn't really care, just as long as I was healthy. Maybe they should have been a little pickier.

Is the light at the end of the tunnel supposed to go "whoo whoo"?

My mother was so sure that I was going to be born a girl that she didn't even consider a boys name. She was so sure, in fact, that all the things she bought for her new baby were for a baby girl and the baby's room was even decorated for a girl. The name she had picked for me was Nancy.

I never knew about all of this until just a few years ago when one lazy summer Sunday afternoon my mother told my wife about how things were when she was pregnant with me an how sure she was that she was that I was going to be born a girl.

What I found most interesting was that years before I had ever heard my mothers story about her being pregnant with me, I had picked the name Nancy too. I guess she did in a way have that daughter after all.

Jeannie -

I know you were left on the doorstep by aliens - but first you were dipped in Extra Virgin Cold-Pressed Olive Oil and wrapped up in an Extra-Large Pizzelle!! :P

Were you born a girl, Jeannie? Yes, dear, and you were very cute as a child, too! <oooo> You are such a girl - fishing for compliments as you are, gheesh!! :P

I could always hear the worms screaming when I put them on the hook Silver Lady. I do need a bit of positive reinforcement about my looks though. My wife always told me I look like a cross between Jim Croce and Frank Zappa. Not a good visual to conjure up SL.
As for the Extra Virgin Olive Oil I thought my wife was similar when we met. Boy was I wrong. I just ran into her last boyfriend Bruno last week. He's a 6'5" blond Lithuainian and he said"How's Mini" with this big grin. For the last twenty five years I'd be with Mini and Some big man would see her and say"Hey Mini!" and come over and hug her. I would always say"Who was that?" She always replied"Oh. That's just and old boyfriend" I don't mind running into her old boyfriends but for last twenty five years we ran into 3 or 4 every month! I think that covers all the men in my city! YIKES!
By the way Mini's real name is Domenica because she was born on Sunday. She lucked out though. Her Mom Carmella was going to name her Asunta if she was born on the Feast of the Assumption. Gotta run I making some brasiola and eating a capicolla sandwich. Just got mustard on my dress. Darn. Where's a mopeen? Hugs
