Thanks all for the information. Southern Comfort sounds ideal. (like you Beauty going out in public is kind of scary--my outings have been in a group of guys I already trust) But what about "Be All" in Chicago? Does anyone know if it is as big and as well organized and chaperoned? How does it compare?

I have been to about 5-6 Be-Alls and it is very safe. The CDs greatly out number the other guests staying at hotel. I remember being in elevator with about 8 cds and one poor guy. I looked at him and asked if he would be glad when his floor came up. Everyone thought it was funny including him. Your are very safe and there is great support from everyone. By the way it's a great place to bring your wife for a first time meeting of other TVs. Thats what I was able to do back in 1986. After that we both became part of both TV groups in Chicago. It's been great. Be-All is almost as big as SC and is very well organizad. I and my wife will be there and can guarantee you will have a great time. Try it. Ruby

I live 20 minuits from the hotel down town but got a room last year and plan to do the same this year for SCC. Its nice to stay in girl mode for the entire time, you miss less fun *S*I had a couple elevator rides that were a bit interesting tho,, one I remember was when a buisness like GG got on not expecting 6 or so CD's to be on,,, she took it well , surprised but ok,,, funny ,, we got to giggle when she got off :-)))
Friday night we had the hotel shuttle bus take us a few blocks to a sushi place may have been 15 or more of us walk in,, I always try my best to pass,, but 15 T girls walking in at once,,,,,,,I feel safe to say I was read
We were treated wonderfuly anyway!
But like Jamie said there are a couple other clubs near also.
Also the hotel has an attatched food court/shopping area, which I enjoyed an early stroll through while having my coffee,,,
Gee I could go on and on,, and I have only been once :-)
Like I said earlier,, I realy recomend it to everyone !!!
