I was supposed to be twins and this was the girl's name. Turns out it was just me, not anymore!

April is my birth month, and the name of the first girl I ever kissed. As for Rose, I just adore roses. If any one wants to send me flowers, those are the ones to send.

My SO gave me the name Jemima when I was unsure of my identity, and I have grown to love it... its meaning is dove in Hebrew and with the name I have found peace after years of denying my female persona, so the name is now mine for life I really like it!!

I struggled with this one. There are so many girls names that I really like, but when it came to me, none of them seemed comfortable. And then I hit on the feminine version of my name; decided to us the "y" spelling which made it seem even mor fem to me and it fit. It was very, very comfortable. Then I added a middle name that I like and seems to complement Robyn nicely and voila! I am Robyn Kelly.

I liked Gwen because it is very similar to my male name and to me it has an understated feminine quality. I do like to use my nickname, Missy, in some situations, as it is more obviously fem.

How I chose my name

Post by Wendae »

Mine came from the middle name of a T.S. that I had hired. I admired and respected her for her choice. She worked for me for a great number of years. She never knew about me.

When I came out to my wife we decided that I needed a fem name so we went with Wendie, after the girl in peter pan. While we were on a cruise with a Triess group we met a woman who was interviewing crossdressers for her book. She asked about my name and why I felt that I had to change my name when I was crossdressed. So after some thought on the subject we decided that I would go by Geri which was my real name anyway, only spelled differently. Jerry to Geri. My wife liked it a lot better. Come to find out she didn't really like calling me Wendie, although we both like the name.

I selected a name that was close to sounding as my own name, This way when out with my (SO) should she slip up, in the name calling it would sound close . She has a fear of the public still so I want to make every thing as easy as possible

Debbie Jayne attempted to respond to this thread, but inadvertently started a new one. The 'new' thread has been deleted, but I copied her post in its entirety first; no changes have been made. - SL

Growing up in school, my favorite spring dance was the Sadie Hawkins dance. Being who I was, the kids just called me "Sadie"

Wow! All of a sudden I get this e-mail that a thread I was watching so long ago has had a new post posted on it. It has been like January of 2004 since I last posted on this thread. Heck, it has been since ever since I have posted on any of the threads. Life has its way of moving on and sometimes the paths we go off on take us away from paths we were once on.

Looking back I don't think I ever stated why I decided to call myself Nancy? So let me put it out there. Some 30 years after I started calling my self Nancy my mother told the story of how when she was pregnant with me she so wanted a second daughter that she just knew I was going to be born a girl. The only names she thought of were girls names. The girls name she was going to give me was Nancy!

Now, I have no proof that this is so but perhaps while I was in her womb I heard her call me Nancy and down deep it stuck. I never came out to my mother so she never knew that she did in fact have a second daughter. I often wonder if I should have come out to her but that will forever be an unanswered question of mine. I like to think she is in a different place where she somehow will know.

So to me, when I call myself or give my name out as Nancy it is just the same as when I refer to myself or give out my male given name. It is not a name that I have given my self it is my name. Nancy.

For what it's worth. Even though, as I have stated, my life has moved on down different paths which have taken me away from being as attentive and as active as I once was on this forum I have continued to keep it with me, like a cherished gift. It is a safe place, a good place, a caring, warm and friendly place. It's just too good to leave behind.

Hugs to all...
Nancy Elizabeth Lee

Strangely enough It was from watching cartoons. As a child i watched Casper the friendly ghost. The witches name being Wendy stuck for me. I even had a wendy baseball cap at one time.
