Thanks Anna, I think they can be, as long as we are not talking leather patches on the elbows! this one is quite short and has three quarter length sleeves so ideal on a worm summers evening, just enough to stop my shoudlers getting cold and a lot easier than a scarf and mmore comfy than a jacket
