Well, what can I say other than Virginia hit the jackpot today!!!! I took the lady that I care for with me to Goodwill. I was pushing her up and down the aisles. folks tend to get out of the way so I had clear aisle and in the dresses I found not one but two TWO and they both fit great. One is a white with SUBDUED green and purple orchids. the skirt is full and pleated and drops to just below the knee. The blazer is awesome. It flairs out with style at my waist and has shoulder pads so I can wear longer hair with it. The flair shows off my butt. I just can't believe it fits so well. I don't have an easy body to fit!!
18" arms and 44" chest and 34" waist.
The other is absolutely beautiful. It is a greenish color, solid, with pleated bodice, wide matching belt and the skirt is pleated and falls to about mid-calf. It is lined and the material is sooooo light. I did a couple of spins and it flairs out to show about mid-thigh - soooooo sexy!!!!! Pulling the belt a couple of notches and I actually have a very respectible figure that should turn some heads! The shoulders are padded and the sleeves are "extra" long with two button cuffs, so there is some "extra" material in the sleeves so you can streach your arms out fully and it does not distort the rest of the dress. I just can't believe my luck and they are spotless, like new, not a mark on either of them. I would hazzard a guess that in a store they both would cost well over $100.00 each. What did I pay? this was Goodwill remember -----------
$3.50 each sooo lucky, I am going to take my "charge" with me from now on - she must be good luck!!!!!
When the going gets tough ----- the tough go shopping!!!!!!
Love ya,
Virginia in the green dress!!!!

Was on the way home from a Transgendered week-end where every one had a great time, and decided to stop at a dress shop about half hour from home.
Was looking at dresses as I did not have only one, and saw a nice long summer dress that took my fancy.
The sales girls there are getting to know me better than i thought, and the one girl said, why do you not try it on to see how it fits.
Being a long dress, i always like to wear heels, so went out to the car and got my heels. Tried it on, and it fit, like it was tailor made for me.
So there goes, another dress to add to my femme wardrobe

I haven't posted in here in a while, and my purchases have piled up in the meantime. I'll restrict myself just to this week's haul:
a pair of shoes from WalMart, part of their new Metro 7 line. These are wedge-type sandals with about a 4" heel (faux-cork), and just a set of black straps over the toes.

I also do not post here very often I how ever have been shopping recently. Mostly due to extra money from a new job. I bought 2 new leotards one is a purple criss cross cut leotard. http://www.snowleotards.com/catalog/closeup/614.html
The other is a Camo leotard. They sell it as a mens workout shirt but it is a leotard. http://www.snowleotards.com/catalog/closeup/552.html
I have also bought one more pair of Old Navy boot cut jeans. I am not sure if I had listed it but I also found a Skatedress at Salvation Army for $4.50. It is from Curtain Call the same company that makes Alpha Factor Leotards.

That's kind of neat. Reminds me of the black "bodyglove" item that's worn under stormtrooper armor.Gaven McLaren wrote:I also do not post here very often I how ever have been shopping recently. These wern't today... but, within the last week.
I've been trying to add more tops to my wardrobe. I came across a couple great deals and got them.
Three cute tank tops, one pink, one orange with lacy trim and straps, one sparkly purple.
Two polo tops, pink with eyelet trim, and a light burgandy.
They all fit great, and look great!
Gotta be ready for Summer!

Shopping on line and "in person"
Well, let's see-- I've been doing very well shopping at the GAP web site-- GAP's blend of modified hippie and relaxed preppie suits me fine. Love their cute print "flirt skirts." Two shopping expeditions in person (and "dressed") over the weekend to "old town" Alexandria. On Saturday I picked up some wigs which had been repaired at HOLLYWOOD FASHION WIGS and then went over to the GAP "outlet" store (just over a block away!) Bought two linen "tiered" skirts (white and pink, knee length or so), tees in different colors and two pairs of shorts with a "tie" front. But the shorts really turned out to be too big, so on Sunday I put the drag back on, went back to GAP and exchanged the two pairs of shorts for the next smaller size. The place was really crowded-- I wonder if Sunday is their busiest day!
After leaving GAP, I walked back up the other side of King Street and for the first time, stopped in at TEN THOUSAND VILLAGES. They sell crafts and clothing from foreign countries. The staff was ok with my CD-ing and even let me use the bathroom to try on outfits. They had short sleeve dresses which fit me well and I bought one in each color (purple, light blue/green, pink with batik/tie dye sorts of designs).
Today (Monday) I visited the VINTAGE VIXEN web site and ordered a mid/early '60s blouse (short sleeve, pointed peter pan collar) and a 70's style dress. This is the first time I've ordered from them and their site is fairly easy to navigate. Folks interested in '60s and '70s vintage clothing should check out the VINTAGE VIXEN site.
Incidentally, I do not drive and thus do ride the METRO subway while "dressed." This has led to positive and negative experiences. Unfortnuately, this past weekend I encountered a drunk sports fan (young, probably college age male-- frat boy type?) who talked about me in a loud voice with his friends and a young African American male who howled with laughter as soon as he got on the train and saw me. He couldn't stop looking either. Neither person put me in physical danger, but they certainly were unpleasant to be near and made me nervous. I have discovered that young black men are the most likely group to interact with me in a negative way. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone else ride public transit while "dressed?"
Ordered solid color blouses with short "puff" sleeves from GAP online. I saw stuff like that on my last trip to England (March) and was surprised and glad to see that a store in this country was selling that style. Those blouses will be really cute with both denim and print skirts!
Well, that's it for this chapter of the continuing saga.
Peace'n'Luv to all!!-- Kendra Lynn.

I have discovered my new favorite store:
http://www.torrid.com/
I can't remember where I heard of this first. It might've been someone here that mentioned it, I don't know. Anyway, I went in looking for a top to wear to this weekend's Kappa Beta meeting. I was a little weirded out at first, because most of their stuff is sized 1-4, but I learned that their sizes roughly correspond to most other vendors' 14-26.
This was the most awesome shopping experience I have ever had. I went to the store yesterday in drab. I got personal service from the store manager. She helped me pick things out, then insisted I try everything on. When does that ever happen?
Yesterday, I bought two tops, a blue/tan tanktop with a tattoo design on the front that says, "It's My Life", and what they call a "2fer", a white tank with an attached red crop top. The crop top has a floral design on the left breast with a similar design on the back that says "Beauty Vixen". I also picked up a set of bangle bracelets and a silver ring. I wanted to get some earrings, but they don't carry clip ons. The manager announced to her staff that she was taking a 15-minute break, then walked down to Claire's with me and helped me pick out three different pairs (buy two, get one free!). I spent about $70 all together. There was more I wanted to get, but I asked them to hold it until payday, which was today.
I went back for a pair of black palazzo pants, but also came home with a pair of Z. Cavaricci jeans, a pair of wedge sandals and two more rings.
I would also like to mention that they have a loyalty program called "Divastyle". You have to spend $300, then you get 5% off everything you buy for the next year.

Hi all,
Today my order from National arrived - mostly foundations that were on sale. A Rago 6 garter open bottom all in one (now I have 2 of them), a Rago 4 garter waist cincher in white, to compliment my black one, and white a panty girdle with a front zipper. They all fit and I'm wearing the all in one now.
In addition, I got 2 2 pair packs of their vintage style stockings but won't open them just yet, not until some of my current stockings wear out.
I also bought a beige Hanes open bottom waist cincher at Kmart. That fit and will replace some of my stretched out older Kmart ones.
The thrift stores are my happy hunting ground for outer clothing, but for sanitary reasons, I buy my underpinnings new.
